Keenan McCardell made the catch anyway.

    After that, Philip Rivers, starting his first "game" as quarterback of the Chargers, did a spot-on impersonation of his boyhood idol and future Hall of Famer Brett Favre.

    With Favre standing on the opposing sideline, Rivers threw deep balls, timing patterns, quick outs and --- in true Favre-esque fashion --- a one-handed flip over an outstretched defensive lineman.</blockquote>
