Thanks for posting that. I just heard of the video an hour ago on my drive home. Dick Enberg lent his voice to the production just out of love for the city and the Boltz. Hope it helps.

Are those cows in the background, like the ones that used to be in Mission Valley in the 70s and 80s?

    I like that stadium concept!

Here's to the other NFL owners blocking the team's relocation!

Didn't Mark Fabiani downplay that video? I cant find the quote on any of the local TV stations websites, but as I watched this morning I heard him say that you can not build a stadium based on a video, and that the City has to do all the hard work like the Chargers have done in Los Angeles.

Of course Fabiani dumped on it---at this point he'd dump on his own mother & call
Mother Teresa a whore if he thought either would help move the Chargers to L.A.

What exactly has been accomplished in Carson? Wasn't their stadium some sort of giant spaceship looking thing?

The stadium in the video in this thread is the best of the drawings of the proposed stadiums published so far in my view.

I, personally, think the City of Industry stadium design was the best. Built to be a part of the hills it was supposed to be in, with ample flat parking area for tailgating and events. Unfortunately, it didn't have a nationally know address, so it was never taken seriously.

Sharing the stadium with a soccer franchise would make a hell of a lot more sense than sharing it with the Raiders...

Man! I just don't see the Chargers being welcomed to the LA market the way they are playing and being owned/coached at this point. They need to stay in SD and right the ship!

It's not about how the fans FEEL, it's more about how the Spanos bank accounts FILL.

Or if they could figure out a way to make a stadium with a giant flush handle...

I hear you! but they better be careful, lest they be driving the value of this team straight down the toilet, at which time, Pointy's Stadium idea would be most appropriate and efficient. :)

Tell me what person in LA is going to buy tickets to see who on the chargers? Rivers? Gordon?

Obviously spanos would be happy to sell out the stadium to opposing fans. I don't see NFL letting him go there.

Pretty sure LA would line up to see Gurley

No successful franchise has moved in the NFL.
This talk about 'how would the owners make Chargers a showcase in LA...' is simply not a concern.
The team, whichever team will have to build their fan base. Even the Raiders and Rams. There are some outspoken fans of each in LA no doubt. But the stadium still has to be filled.

Also looking at the history of teams in LA really is not something you can measure the current teams success or lack of against in the LA market. At that time the teams in LA were struggling and there were black outs. Now there are no black outs, so the teams will still be in the face of the fans.

Looking at how things went at the theater and the level of distrust and antagonism on all sides, I do not see the Chargers staying in SD.

Unless for some reason the Spanos decide to sell.

LA loves a winner...... Well, that rules out the Chargers, Raiders, and Rams. Anyone else need a new stadium? ;)

    Winners dont move.*

That rules out the whole mindset of your post...

    :D

*other than the Cleveland Rams moving to St. Louis in 1946 after winning the NFL championship in 1945.

Precisely....... all teams should stay put..... even the Raiders. Besides, I'm curious to see that "wave" thing in action. ;)

Spanos was probably beaming, watching all those cash registers ringing around the stadium during the Pitts and Okeland games. He doesn't give a rat's patootie who is sitting in those seats, as long as the money is being funneled into his wallet. It's only a matter of time before we have 20% Chargers fans compared to 80% opposing fans in our own house. It's fu*king embarrassing! Then again, by NFL standards, every team in the league should be donating a few million to Team Spanos building a stadium, since all of their teams play an away "home game" at the Q whenever they get to play there...
