It’s pretty easy to finish 13-3 when you play the likes of Denver, Oakland, and Kansas City twice a year. The combined record of the Chargers’ division rivals in the 2009-10 NFL betting season was a horrendous 17-31.

    NFL Betting Future Odds:
    To Win AFC West

    San Diego Chargers -325
    Denver Broncos +600
    Oakland Raiders +750
    Kansas City Chiefs +700

The Chargers made a smart move in deploying an aging Ladanian Tomlinson, who for the first time in his career was unable to post a 100-yard game in a season.

Darren Sproles and rookie running back Ryan Matthews will replace Tomlinson in the San Diego backfield in hopes of duplicating some of the production the NFL’s most consistent running back had in the past nine years for the Chargers.

Even if Matthews and Sproles can get close to Tomlinson’s individual production it doesn’t necessarily translate into postseason Charger success. Tomlinson and the rest of the Chargers failed to reach a Super Bowl since his rookie year in 2001.

The Chargers have not improved from last year, and although a first place finish in the AFC West is imminent, the Chargers will not win the AFC.

Phillip Rivers has yet to show he can best Peyton Manning and Tom Brady in the playoffs, one of whom he will inevitably have to get by to make it to the Super Bowl.

If it weren’t for the dreadful NFC West, the Chargers would have the easiest schedule for the 2010-11 NFL betting season.

The combined winning percentage of Chargers’ opponents this year is 45.3%. This is compared to the most difficult schedule shared by the Titans and Texans at 54.7%.

Don’t get me wrong, the Chargers are a good team. Bet on them to win the AFC West but, it’s difficult to take them to win anything beyond that this 2010-2011 NFL betting season.

So, it's easy to finish 7-3 against non division opponents?

It's so easy to go 4-0 against that poor NFC East.

As long as VJack and McNeil are holding out it was pretty obvious that people would call us overrated.

I guess beating Manning the only two times he has faced him in the playoffs doesn't count. How can this be a professional writer?

That is why I asked for a link. I have a feeling it is from Bleacher Report which is a site where anyone who wants to write an article, can have it posted. It is a joke of a site, and it full of uninformed fans who just like to talk **** about other teams that don't know about

    Here is the bottom line.

Is anyone going to bet on the Bolts going deep in the playoffs? Have they done it yet? When was the last time we lost a AFC championship game (2007), let alone win one (1994).

True, but I was going off the premise of sweeping the allegedly easy opponents leaving 7-3 all that would need to be done.

He's beaten Manning TWICE in the playoffs in the last three years. Nearly beat Brady on one leg. :icon_shrug:
