    Anticipation Builds For Schedule Release
Posted by Mike Florio on April 14, 2009, 11:59 a.m.
We’re being flooded with requests from readers for potential tidbits regarding the official 2009 regular-season NFL schedule.

For now, there have been no leaks. There still might be, but we’re not counting on anything until late in the afternoon, at the earliest.

In the past, when the schedule was announced at or about 2:00 p.m. EDT, some of the teams would release all or part of their own schedules as the designated release time approached.

This time around, with the NFL making it a prime-time event, we have a feeling that the league office will keep a fairly tight lid on the process, with perhaps the league giving teams the green light to tip their hands 30 minutes or so early.

It would justify the peak in traffic that each of the 32 teams’ web sites likely is experiencing today, as fans hope that the wrapping might peel back a bit on the package with the tag that says “Do Not Open Until 7:00 p.m. EDT.”

Well it looks like the Chargers will play the Giants the weekend of Nov. 8th or Dec. 27th. The only two games unidentified on thier schedule are the Panthers and the Chargers. Hopefully they'll close out thier home season against the Panthers.

Mike Garafolo of the Newark Star-Ledger has more of the Giants’ 2009 regular-season schedule.

Basically, he has almost all of it. Here’s what he has. (Nice job, Garafolo.)

    Wk 1: WASHINGTON, 4:15 p.m.

    Wk 2: at Dallas, 8:20 p.m.

    Wk 3: at Tampa

    Wk 4: at Kansas City

    Wk 5: OAKLAND

    Wk 6: at New Orleans

    Wk 7: ARIZONA

    Wk 8: at Philadelphia

    Wk 9: N/A

    Wk 10: BYE

    Wk 11: ATLANTA

    Wk 12: at Denver, 8:20 p.m.

    Wk 13: DALLAS

    Wk 14: PHILADELPHIA

    Wk 15: at Washington

    Wk 16: N/A

    Wk 17: at Minnesota
