NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell will suspend Plaxico Burress for the first eight games of this season at a minimum, and potentially for the entire 2009 season. The law and order commissioner is not going to take it easy on Burress. It's been quiet since Burress was indicted on Aug. 3 on two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, a felony, and one count of reckless endangerment in the second degree, a misdemeanor.

His suspension is the least of his worries.

NY has a 3.5 year manditory minimum sentence for illegal possession of a firearm & discharging it within city limits.

The gun wasn't registered, his Florida concealed weapons permit had expired(though it doesn't matter because NY doesn't recognize FL permits), he had it concealed AND he fired it inside a club. That's such a collection of charges it's almost funny.......

What's the point? Isn't he going to jail?

I signed him to the Chargers on Madden '10, though.

In video games you don't have to worry about off field and personality issues. :icon_rofl:

I believe the thought process was that they could continue his case until after the season, so theoretically, he could have squeezed one more year of BIG $$$ out of his NFL career.

Once he's in jail, the gravy train will be over.

He is going to do time. The NY DA and the Mayor have hard-ons for this one. He is no longer a Giant, so they do not have to worry about pissing off the fan base. They are gonna lock his *** up.

I hope Goodell suspends the ****ing moron for the 2009 season.
