The Chargers blow another game in the fourth quarter, this time to the Eagles when a blocked field goal is returned for a touchdown and Reche Caldwell fumbles on their final drive.

    Quarterback

    B+

Brees deserved better than this. But they asked him to win it too late.

    Running back

    C

LT has more room to run in his sock drawer.

    Receiver

    C

Gates, like Dr. Livingston, finally is discovered. But you've got to hold onto the football.

    Offensive line

    D-

It looked like they were trying to block the cast of "Spartacus."

    Defensive line

    B+

The Eagles offense scored 13 points. Somebody did something right.

    Linebacker

    A-

Merriman gets the start and has five tackles and a sack. Edwards is everywhere.

    Secondary

    A

Hard to remember when the DBs played so well against such an aerial onslaught.

    Special teams

    F

Lost this game. Plain and simple. You let Quintin Mikell come free on a field goal?

    Coaching

    F

Another very winnable game lost, and some decisions could be questioned.

    Next opportunity (vs. Kansas City)

    A

This is when the Chargers' season begins.

Can't argue with those grades. But I wouldn't give the coaching staff a "F" beacuse they did make the right adjustments to get us the lead at the half. They should get at least a "c-" or "d+".
