No room for Cromartie to start, even with all his interceptions

What the hell is going to take put Cromo in there? He leads the team, league, and franchise (for the last 7 years) in interceptions and he is sat behind FLorence? The guy hasn't done **** accept stupid f*cking penalties.

Antonio Cromartie has more interceptions already this season than any Chargers cornerback since 2001. His six picks lead the NFL.
Yet there is no room for him to be a starter.

Quentin Jammer is expected to return this week after missing Sunday's victory over Indianapolis with a hamstring strain. Then, Cromartie, who intercepted three Peyton Manning passes, will be back playing anywhere from 10 to 30 plays a game.
“That's something we'll deal with when Jammer is ready,” coach Norv Turner said.

Said Cromartie: “I'm just going in and playing my role. . . . I can see it changing. My biggest thing is week in and week out to do what I'm supposed to do.”

    Hardwick to see doctor

It's gone on long enough, and Nick Hardwick's foot is not getting better. So Hardwick will go to Seattle today to see a specialist and determine what to do next.
There is no solid timetable for his return, and as each week passes, it becomes more likely he could sit out the season.

    Strong TV rating

Sunday's game gave NBC its highest overnight rating for “Sunday Night Football” since the Cowboys-Bears game in Week 3.
According to Nielsen Media Research, the overnight rating was 12.7 the highest for a regular-season network prime-time game involving the Chargers in exactly 11 years. The San Diego-Detroit game on Nov. 11, 1996, earned a 14.7 rating. The local rating in San Diego was 28.5. The local rating in Indianapolis was 41.8.

    Nuts 'n' Bolts

LaDainian Tomlinson passed 13,000 career scrimmage yards Sunday, in his 104th career game, doing so quicker than Jerry Rice, Emmitt Smith or Walter Payton, the top three in scrimmage yards all-time. Tomlinson has 13,078 yards.
Jaguars quarterback David Garrard, who missed the past three games because of an ankle injury, anticipates returning to the starting lineup Sunday against the Chargers.

It's only tuesday...it's possible Norv will see the light and sit Florence before the Jag's game...if not, we've been NORVAL-IZED...again.
Then again, it's not like we really have to worry about the Jag's passing game.
Just like the Viking game, all we have to do is stop the run...:icon_huh:

Instead of the misleading headline, read the article. Norv says he'll make that decision when Jammer is healthy. He doesn't say Cromartie won't start. He leaves the door open. No reason to upset Flo before you have to. I'll be pissed if Cro and Jammer aren't the starters when QJ returns, but I don't think Norv has said he'll start Flo over Cro.

    Classic Norv!!!!
    Just admit it!!!!

His failures in Washington and Oakland were no fluke.
This team IS proof of that!!!

I agree- Norv's comments were that he'd visit the situation when Jammer was ready to start. That said, Cro starts until Jammer is better, and then once that happens- he'll decide what to do. I hope he knows what to do, but it wouldn't surprise me if he hadn't thought about it yet. It seems like Norv is always a few plays too late or not prepared, but just my guess...

Needless to say, he said "he'd address it when the time came," so other than that- if Jammer still can't go next week, Cro gets the nod.

I cannot believe this. Cro is dynamite, and they would put him on the bench.
    **** you, Norv.

Watching Florence play corner is like watching Danny Divito try to cover Terrel Owens. Its pathetic, he has no business starting over Cromartie.

And whoever has implanted it in to Norvs idiot brain that he cant sub Florence for Cromartie needs to be shot.

That is just very hard to believe. Florence should be moved to the Nickle and Cromartie should be starting. My goodness what the heck are we thinking?? Of course he should be starting RIGHT NOW.

Take the ball away from LT every time our run game gets going? Check.

Send our receivers on 20 yard pattern when we're getting blitzed and the protection sucks? Check.

Celebrating a back-in victory after we should have won by 30, further alienating everybody on our team? Check.

Benching our biggest playmaker of the past few games in favor of a continual loser because you have no balls? Check.

Just another day in the life, baby.

I say sit Jammer one more game...long season and all, he is needed, get rested etc. and see if it is not a "fluke" game by Cro.

Otherwise, D-Flo gets moved to nickle.

There is a comment in Kevin Aceee's mailbag, that states that Cro will not be starting... at work, I can pull it up later.

If it wasn't for the tailgater I don't know if I'd even go to anymore games this season since it's become painfully obvious our coaching staff is ****ing retarded.

But Norv never said he wouldn't start Cro over Flo. He said the decision would be made when Jammer is healthy. That's a far cry from saying Cro won't start. The headline of this article is extremely misleading, and assumes that Norv's response says more than it does. I for one would prefer Norv not announce that Flo has been demoted until Jammer is healthy enough to play.

I understand the frustrations with Norv, seriously. But let's bash him for the things he's done, instead of bashing him for the things he hasn't.

I can't honestly see any reason why Cro wouldn't be starting. Flo's gone end of season anyway. Cro is killing out there.

    From Kevin Acee:

But look, Cromartie is still going to get beat. He did Sunday, in fact. Sure, I'll trade that for one or more INTs a game most of the time.

As for now, with Florence and Jammer on the team, making what they do and playing pretty well, I don't see how you start Cromartie.

    -------

Now it seems like a bit like speculation, but Kevin Acee seems to have his pulse on what's happening in the locker room, so I am guessing this is the read he's been getting, as in most of his comments he seems to be huge fan of, going as far as calling him MVP on the team.

Doesn't sound good. And the fact that Norv would even be wish-washy on this, shows the dude has no f*cking clue.

When did Florence get "pretty good?" Cromartie gave up a few passes, but by the end of the game Peyton was definetely thinking twice before throwing his way. I hope Acee is just talking out his ***. It sure sounds like he is. On the surface this isn't that big of a deal because most offenses run spread formations against us most of the game and Cromartie gets playing time regardless if he's #2 or the nickle. It's just completely lame. Who cares if Drayton's feelings get hurt? He's gone next year anyways and Cromartie is WAY better!
