    Sorry to hear that Rexy, you really are taking this Charger slump very very badly.

    How's the hockey team going ?

    Still using the "do you want to be known as the Chargers of this league" analogy to keep the troops fired up ???

    That turned the team around, then they tanked again. I may have to dust that one off. Luckily Norv is keeping it in the headlines.

    See that .........Saints vs Falcons, should be a doozy.

    Tell ya what, say what you like about those dirty birds ..... But the bastards do know how to finish a game off with a "W" when under the pump.

    That builds confidence within a team, regardless of how ordinary they are looking throughout the game.

    Chargers could do well to watch and learn what it takes to comeback under pressure when all looks lost.

    11-12 year olds actually. HC likes to tell them how soft they are. Last week I told them that I don't think they're a threat. And neither do the rest of the teams in the league. Luckily the other assistant coach is the nice guy. 3 coaches kicking their asses would probably be too much...

    Yeah I don't get all the **** the Falcons are getting. This isn't college ball where you blow everyone out. And they don't need help from the refs, like the Texans ;)

    Out for the night, catch you later mate.

    Yeah agree..................they just have that "IT factor" working nicely in their favour at present it seems and to be successful in any sport, its a real plus.

    They just have a nice even spread throughout their team, no absolute superstars (though I'd still be inclined to calll Gonzales just that, brilliant player in clutch situations), they're solid in all 3 phases of the game, with NO real obvious weaknesses.

    And their "go-to-players" rarely ever let them down when called upon at critical junctures of the game.

    I think they'll go deeper in the PO's this year than they have the last few, mind you, that lack of PO success will be playing on their minds come Jan. all the same.

    Nite mate.

    OK, WTF !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :eek:

    Is this Eagles "D" trying to make my FIG NEWTON analogy non existent or what ???

    I don't ever recall a Chargers D giving up TWO softer TD's in consecutive drives than what Ive just seen by the Eagles.

    Farg me ............both recievers were 20 yards clear and walked into the EZ untouched ???

    Maybe we could help them out by persuading them to take a good hard look at Cason ?

    Hey, a man can still dream, can't he ???

    So, just now reading some articles and stats in regard to Sundays game ..............

    - Gates thrown to TWICE in 60 minutes of football ??? :confused:

    Seriously ?.............in 60 minutes, NORF couldn't find a play on his books, that may have given Gates the opportubity to catch more than 2 balls for a measely 13 yards. ?

    I couldn't give a shite if this guy is quadrupled-teamed, throw him the fargin' ball you Nimrod, one of the greatest offensive players the game has ever seen and you target him TWICE ???....My God, how this Man is still given the responsibilty to coach is so far beyond me, I'm past livid. :mad:

    Get this loser outta here ..... not worth a pinch of billygoat shite.

    - Meachem in on a total of 2 plays the entire game !!!!

    $14 MILL. guaranteed and after 10 short weeks, his production is the equivalent of a guy thats inactive for the game ? :rolleyes:

    WOW !!!!! .......................just W.O.W.

    How can people making millions $$$$ to evaluate talent, be Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo wrong and still be employed ???

    I certainly don't expect every trade or FA pickup to turn into a Pro Bowl type, but I do at the very least expect some type of productivity from a guy who costs us that sort of coin, absolutely no excuses for this guy to have been bought in and show NOTHING like he has.

    Disgraceful display of ineptness at its very very best by the entire scouting group and should get the majority of them a one way ticket OUTTA San Diego, enough is enough.

    - 4th and 29 ......

    One question here .....................why would our secondary guys continue guarding their recievers downfield once Ray Rice is thrown the ball ???

    Does Cason NOT KNOW that ONCE that ball leaves Flacco's hand to RICE, that his man is longer a threat on that particular play ???? why the farg is he still standing next to his opponent (ala ScareCro in the endzone on more than the odd occasion) ???? ...............why is he still standing (like his feet are nailed to the turf ?) , 35 yards down field and NOT advancing forward towards the runner ?

    I mean, come on, the guy is a damn good player, I love him in fact, but he's no Walter Payton for farg sake and he was able to run and beat 7 guys to the first down marker on what should have been their last offensive play of the game ???

    Only one answer to that question ....................flat out SCARED of contact.

    That is as pitiful an effort to ICE a WIN as Ive ever seen, those guys should be embarrassed to show their faces in public after that gutless display, isn't an excuse in Hell as to why the ballgame isn't done and dusted at that stage.

    Man, its getting harder and harder to root for these guys that just refuse to give a shite about playing for the jersey.

    Toughen up you pea-hearted girlguides, the San Diego Seduction womens team would show you up at the moment, seriously.

    That is exactly what I am talking about Jack. <sigh> Spent about an hour this morning just eyeballing our roster - particularly our long list of guys who will be UFAs in 2013... Let's just say I have backed off of my knee-jerk reaction which would have spent the entire 2013 draft on Offensive Linesmen... This team is going to need a lot of help.

    I make half of Rivers six sacks last Sunday to be coverage sacks... Somebody has to get open besides Alexander. They did a great job of taking away Gates - and after, even though Rivers was trying to be damned careful with the ball, some of those completions to Alexander were *damned* tight little windows.

    I still think fatboys are our biggest need - but looking at potential personnel losses too - this team is gonna need help in a lot more areas than my knee-jerk was dictating. :unsure:

    I am sorry to hear that you invested a very valuable hour of your day to realize the ghastly actions (or rather in actions) of AJ Smith and the FO which is tantamount to gross negligence. This team needs two years of solid drafting and coaching to make a turn around. It's been done before, but never under this GM & this HC.

    I cant seem to find a decent video of the "hit on Weddle" anywhere ????

    All are from along distance away, which makes it darn near impossible to get an accurate read.

    God that was sickening, wasn't it.

    I'll take your word for it FC, (I didn't get to see it yet), was going by what Bauer said on the radio, and after what he had to say on the Weddle hit, I've kinda lost faith.

    ~~~
    Well, Bigby to IR, and ILB Bird is back - I'm looking for another move to be made tomorrow involving the O-line and rookie Troutman - this snippet is from Nov 7th:
    ----------
    A hulking 6-foot-4, 330-pound guard, Troutman started the last three seasons for the Penn State Nittany Lions without allowing a sack and was a 2011 All-Big Ten honorable mention selection. Now that he’s returned, he is eligible to practice for the next 21 days before a decision needs to be made to activate him or not. After just one day, however, Troutman feels like he is on a quick path back to being the player he was before the injury and believes he can help this team immediately.
    ----------
    Guess what tomorrow is? Ayup - 21 days later...
    Read it somewhere in the slough of articles bemoaning the loss to Ravens. It was actually quite a good breakdown. I'll see if I can re-find it for you.
    Edit: here you go, buried low in this
    http://www.nctimes.com/sports/footb...cle_7cec5fdc-d030-5534-a829-7e9d3d026454.html
    But remember, most of those are Rivers' fault according to knowledgeable cmbers ;)
    Haslam just got moved up from practice squad, and his place on ps was backfilled today by Cattouse acquisition.
    But they might have someone else ready to IR to open up space for Troutman.
    Thanks for taking time to dig up the link FC - yep, missed that one and it does tell quite a story about the O-line's on-going problem.
    Was tickled to see they credited Barnes for beating the Raven's OTs too - he may be close to a one-trick-pony but it is one hell of a trick and he does it against tackles, not just tight ends and RBs. Phillips actually beat an offensive tackle in that one for the first time I can remember this year - he does his best work against TEs/RBs or where a stunt leaves him uncovered for a quick unopposed shot at the QB with no more than one side-step. I've been watching/waiting for Ingram to do some of the same - his best trick is to get his hands into a big man's chest, then spin 360 and get past, naturally he finds that a lot harder working against NFL OTs and TEs who have huge wing spans and won't let him get into their chest. (Bet that move would be more effective working inside every now and then).
    Hell, I am rambling - thanks again for the link! :tup:
    Man, trawling the dumpsters again by bringing back Ol' Bronte (I'm sorry, but anyone with a name like Bront, has NO right being on a football field, I just can't take that name seriously)
    But, it's all about warm bodies at this stage I guess, so welcome back to the asylum Brontesauras.
    To bad for Bigby, I didn't mind his game, at least he attempted to tackle with some genuine intensity, unlike many of our defensive players.
    Absolutely give the Trout a run, let's see what he has ......NOW.
    And come on, aren't we all just a little excited to hear the name "trout" and "rivers" mentioned together on the same play ???
    Hey !!!!!!....... It's been a year devoid of a lot of highlights, can't blame a Man for trying to infuse some enthusiasm here. ;)
    P.s ...hey Bront, stick to the basic "no more tears" for that dry eye problem, should at least allow you to dress each week if nothing else. ;)
    Oooops, just re-read my post PUMP.
    I didnt make that very clear, did I !!!
    When I said "sickening" I was actually meaning the losing a game on a "4th and 29", not so much the Weddle hit, though it certainly was one helluva "shirtfront" as we call those type hits down here.
    Just watching the Sunday Night game and have seen it much closer up ............real tough call as far as the hit being legit or not.
    Looks to me like Boldin has a perfect side-on contact set to go and a split second before contact, Weddle leans his right shoulder forward, lunging towards Rice, thus slightly exposing his back ever so slightly.
    In all honesty, I'd have been shocked if the ref's called that one in our favour, at full speed its almost impossible to tell exactly where first contact is made.
    I really dont see Boldin copping a fine for it either, was just a great show of toughness from a player who usually isnt called upon to use his body in that form of the game, wish we had someone on Offense who was willing to make that kind of sacrifice occasionally.
    OK PUMP, well this week was a total whitewash because you didn't have the cohuna's to pick the Viks, very poor form on your behalf I might add, but not at all surprising ya Pussy. :)
    So we end up with what ??? .... holy Fark !!!! ......9 and 7 !!!! Now that's embarrassing.
    You should be 8 / 8 actually, seeing as you flip-flopped (again) on your earlier statement about "always picking the Chargers", therefore I should probably be declared the winner from a moral standpoint. :)
