On an unrelated note, not bad at all for our former ToG: http://instagram.com/p/jezu3Du1E3/

I'd take Richard Sherman over SP anytime and any day. I think that Jack was way too reactionary over Sherman as he lapped up the sport media's BS to make a bogyman out of Sherman.

@Sandolf get back in here! You are free, and it sounds like you avoided probation, so the drinks are on @Blitzy!

I have a first generation 55" Samsung Smart TV. It has the 240Hz cycle rate. My previous LCD had the 120Hz. Couldn't tell the difference and from what I've read, it doesn't seem too matter much.

I prefer plasma sets...... the screen rate is much higher, and the black levels are better in general. They are cheaper too.

With your 240Hz Sammy, you should experience less pixelation effect with the very fast action scenes as compared to the 120Hz (should be better for viewing sports for instance). Blew is correct with the Plasma technology though. In the old days, the knock on plasmas were being more prone to burn in effects and their less efficient energy consumption. However, I've been out of the AV loop for a few years now; so I'm not up-to-date on the advances of either technology.

Never really saw pixelation at 120hz either.

Also never liked plasmas. I like the "live" picture an LED provides. Plasmas always looked too grainy to me. They're also a finicky beast as well, with the screen burn and the heat they produce. I've got a custom built cabinet that houses my TV now and that would probably kill a plasma set.

We expect that the site traffic will pick up this Sunday evening when Peyton Manning and Shaun Phillips (plus Vasquez & Jammer) hoist the Lombardi Trophy ;)
