NostraFrostus was on the ball again I see !!!!

I'm a bit concerned about the Argies missing Di Maria (even though I'd rank him right up there with Robben as the biggest PooftahDonna's in the diving category, both are still GUN players)

Though, if Van Persie is missing for the Dykes, that should even out the lose.......

Both teams are full of temperamental bastages, so expect to see plenty of squealing, quadruple tumble rolls, agonizing face grimaces, ankle grabs, orange coffin cart offs, (only to see them return 100% within 2 minutes) and more muff-diving than a "Lesbo Only" party at Lindsey Lohan's joint.

    Should be fun !!!!! :D

You perfectly described why I could never take soccer seriously....... perhaps, like baseball, it should be considered a pastime, rather than a sport. ;)

The Gridiron has spoiled all of us. Otherwise personally speaking I'd much rather watch World Cup Futbol as opposed to say NBA basketball which I find rather boring despite its very fast pace ;)

It's boring, because all teams do is trade baskets....... defense isn't even attempted until the playoffs. The game has degenerated into a showcase for "star" players. That's why I took some satisfaction in the Heat losing to one of the only "teams" left in the NBA.

I hear ya and that's exactly why Soccer has it's many critics ....................I was a huge follower of the English Leagues back as a teenager, went to High School with many English, Scottish, Italian, Greeks etc and we played some vicious lunchtime games, let me tell you !!!! Knew everything about all the teams back in those days too, but then I discovered and was able to gather more info on American sports and it took over as my main interest (along with Aussie Rules ofcourse) ..............Although I loved the Football, Basketball (College and Pro) was my main focus and I watched and studied it religiously from the late 70's until I could no longer watch it at all by the end of the '90's ............ the Allen Iverson's of the World played a game that I no longer cared for in the least.

Since then, Football gets 100% of my attention these day's ............. ;)

And have a look where that's led me too !!! :D

I pretty much stopped watching the NBA avidly after Jordan's second retirement. Quite enjoyed some of the rivalries of the 80's (Lakers / Celtics) and the 90's which in my eyes was the best basketball era I could've enjoyed (Bulls / Pistons / Knicks / Rockets / SuperSonics / Trailblazers / 76rs) , and I tried to continue the fandom momentum with Shaq, Koby, Iverson, etc, but just didn't feel the same to me... In this decade, I'll be hard pressed to name more than 10 NBA players! Tim Duncan is the only one remaining from the tail end of my golden era of basketball ;)

I tried watching his comeback ..................lasted all of about 2 games I think !!!

You can't turn back time, no matter how brilliant "you were" ........................and to me, he was the greatest I had the pleasure to experience, never missed a single game of the Bulls once I arrived in '88.....................some great memories.

Magic and Bird started it all for me though ........................those Showtime Laker/Celtic teams were as good as it got and to experience it live and up close in '84 was an unforgettable time.

Couldn't agree more...............Shaq, Kobe and Iverson took the "look at me" approach and in my mind, changed (not for the better) the game forever..................I'll watch the occasional game during the Finals these days, but with no passion whatsoever ...................Duncan has been an outstanding player, a true throwback if you will........................God, I can recall watching him as a freshman in college at Wake like it was yesterday too..................the years really have flown by !!! :(

Poofessoria, just watching the Brazil/Germany game now ...............

All that was being discussed here on Sports Talk radio was the fact about how the Brazillians were "honouring" and carrying on about the fact that Neymar was missing and treating it like the guy was dead or something.

Then I seen them holding his jersey during the anthem's and thought ..........."What the FARG !!!!!!"

Christ, they were already beaten before they tossed the coin !!!! ..................... what a load of sentimental bullshite that is, talk about giving your opponent a psychological edge !!!!

Thank God Messi or Ronaldo aren't Brazillian ...................I'd hate to see how they'd react if one of those 2 went down and couldn't play................... the entire Country may have mass suicided !!!!

I was living in NYC during the Pat Riley coached Knicks era..... that was a great time for basketball. Their battles with the Bulls were classic, even if they couldn't quite manage to get past them. The Knicks defense was smothering then. They were the reason the league changed the rules to not allow hand contact on the ball carrier. That was a tough physical era for basketball. I miss Charles Oakley clobbering players who dared to try a layup. ;)
