I hate to be a Debbie Downer but it's not hard to go 15-3 in division when the competition consists of Oakland and KC twice a year.

My math may be a bit fuzzy... But that is 4 games. That means that you still have 11 unaccounted for...

My math might be off as well, but Oak + KC twice a year each over the course of 3 years is 12 games. Since they haven't played KC the 2nd time this year that's 11 games. (Now that I think of it, he can't be 15-3 yet. He's 14-3 right now, but I was merely responding to what somebody else posted.)

Anyways, I had 6 games unaccounted for, all of the games against Denver because they are the one team of the bunch that hasn't been a pushover to the NFL during Norv's tenure as Chargers head coach.

Should be 6, considering Denver is nothing special.
With that, we have an easy schedule with the exception of Bengals.

Dude...Bengals are damn scary. :icon_eek: Thought I'd NEVER say that given that team's recent history.

Dallas is unpredictable, but typical of what's going on in the NFC East. Teams in that divison are hot one week, cold the next.

Dallas isn't much better than the Giants, and they blow!

Though Tennessee is going to be a tough one... I agree.

During Marty's final 3 seasons he was 13-5.
    5-1 in 06
    3-3 in 05
    5-1 in 04

7-5 if you remove the Raider gimmes.

If Norv beats KC he will have gone 5-1 each of his 3 seasons. 2 of those losses were to Denver with one of them being a gift win. The other was during the 1st 4 games Norv was here.

He's 4-2 against our best division rival (Broncos) which is still pretty damn good and only slightly off Marty's overall record.

Ughhhhh. Raiders are still a gimme.
Now the Chiefs are a gimme.
    Broncos should be a gimme.

Broncos were good from 04-06 and so were the Chiefs.

KC was a much better team when Marty was here.

The Broncos were good in 07 and weren't really pushovers last year either.

    The Chiefs weren't that good:

    04: 7-9
    05: 10-6
06: 9-7 (the end of their great offense)

Their great year (13-3) was in 03. Man imagine the **** you'd give Vermiel turning his 13-3 team to a 7-9 team in one season.

I'll give you the Broncos during 04-06, they still had a defense during those years.

But I'd say the 04-06 Chiefs are comparable to Broncos during Marty's years.

    04: 2-0
    05: 1-1
    06: 1-1

4-2 which is what Norv has done against the Broncos and we all know we should be 5-1 against them.

The Chiefs weren't that good, but they were hardly the laughing stock they've been during Norv's tenure.

B4L is exaggerating with the Broncos, though. While they aren't world beaters it is a bit of a stretch to blow off a good record against them.

The Cowboys are jekyll and hyde. They can look good one week then lay a complete egg. I'm surprised they're actually 8-3. Hopefully their offense still sucks when we play them.

I agree that the Chiefs have sucked which is why I was looking at his record against the Broncos, which is the same as Marty's against the Chiefs.

10-6, 9-7 is not gimme. 7-9 is bad but a Hell of A LOT better than now!!!
    07: 4-12
    08: 2-14
They'll probably finish with double digit losses this season too.

BOTTOM LINE: Raiders are still gimme and now there is the added benefit of the Chiefs also being gimme. The Bronkos now suck too.

I meant during the last three years with you blowing off victories against them because of who our head coach is.

    7-7 against everyone else. :icon_shrug:

Maybe "good" was a bit of a stretch, though. I forgot they had a losing record that year.

There's no such thing as a gimmee game in the NFL, but the Raiders and Chiefs the past few years are about as close as it gets.

Talk to BoltzRule. He feels the Raiders are two gimmes a season, so that should be subtracted from Marty's record of division wins.

If that's the case, shouldn't all wins over the Raiders, Chiefs and Broncos be subtracted from Norv's record?

    If not, please explain why?

You'd love to subtract all of Norv's wins, you've already called all our divisional games gimmies. Norv could go 16-0 and win the SB and you'd still find something wrong.

Bottom line Norv's divisional record is better than Marty's was.

I only took out the Raider games to compare it to Norv's record against the broncos (taking out the Chiefs and Raiders games which we should win).

I was trying to be fair with Marty as far as the comparison goes.

    Blah Blah Blah Blah
    Bah Bah Bah Bah

Face it... your comparison is invalid (as usual).
Look back at earlier posts and you'll realize that those Raiders are about the same team as today's Raiders... the Chiefs and Bronkos are completely different teams from those days.
    Examples...
    05: Chiefs 10-6
    08: Chiefs 2-14
    05 Broncos: 13-3
    08 Broncos: 8-8

    Isn't it easy?!!!

    BLAH BLAH BLAH

Try and keep up I compared the Chiefs (04-06) to the current Broncos. You even responded to that post.

You probably skimmed it like you do everything else. It'd explain 99% of your replies.
