Maybe Polian should use the "continuity" line to justify it too his fan base.

I don't even think Norv is good as an OC anymore. His play calling is hyper conservative early in the season when he expects to win, and when when the hole completely is dug he finally takes the leash off and stops playing for field goals........and we start scoring again.

Norv only drops a set when he is absolutely forced too, he needs to retire completely from football.

What are you saying? That Antonio Gates is our entire offense? We started 4-1 when he wasn't around. Our O-line was a damn abomination 2 months ago, now without McNeill and Dielman its never looked better. Why? Not because we're better without them, but because Norv realizes he has nothing left to lose and he's starting to throw wrinkles into the offense, starting to go for it on 3rd and long rather than just call a draw and punt.

Norv's mistakes are the same every single year, our teams issues are the same....EVERY....SINGLE....YEAR....right up until the "fire Norv" website goes up again and then we magically start playing well. We will never have consistancy as long as he is here, in 5 seasons we've only entered December with a winning record ONE TIME (2009). He has failed. It is over. He should have some damn self respect and quit.

Except before, he actually won some playoff games. Not enough, granted, but the talent base has eroded.

I personally find it shortsighted of fans to direct all their ire at Norv Turner for the Charger's woes. AJ Smith has done an even worse job over the last 5 years. To act like AJ's performance has no effect on Norv's is a bit unrealistic...... #imjustsaying

I respectfully disagree. We have a huge hole at RT (that has magically improved these last 2 weeks) Jammer is slowing down, we could use an every down OLB, and a #2 reciever that stays healthy......but thats no more holes than every other team in the league. And its more than enough to win this weak *** division.

Look at the Patriots, their defense is crap! And they have 10 wins because Bellichick has the biggest cajones in the league when it comes to play calling and strategy.
How about the 49ers with Harbaugh? Are they over whelmingly talented?
How about the Jets? Sanchez is not even close to Rivers, they're running game is declining, they don't really have any great pass rushers.....yet always playoff bound?
How about the Broncos with John Fox? The defense and running game are legit, they are incredibly disciplined, and despite Tebow being dog shi* for 50 minutes a game they're about to win the divison?
How about the Texans improvement just with the hire of Wade Phillips, despite losing Mario Williams?

We have plenty of talent even with AJ's inexcusable screw ups with English and Davis, and his stupid attempt to turn Liuget into a 5 teq. Its not like we're the Seahawks with a talentless roster and a hack QB......yet our records are strangly similar.

Coaching is our problem. AJ can go too he's overrated, but coaching is the problem.

Fine, you want to just blame Norv and whitewash AJ's terrible drafts...... that's your prerogative. ;)

Funny thing, several of our losses are directly attributable to the piss poor play of Philip Rivers. He's had his worst season by far, and last year we had a bunch of injuries too. Is that Norv's fault, or Rivers' fault? Coaches have to put players into position to make plays, but the players still have to execute the plays. If Rivers didn't wet the bed with his league leading INTs, the Chargers would be winning the division. Is it a coincidence that the Chargers have put two decisive wins together since Rivers stopped turning the ball over?....... I don't think so.

Has Norv gotten the most out of his talent?........... no, he hasn't. Are the team's problem strictly a matter of coaching?...... not by a long shot.

    Who hired Norv? ;)

AJ alone has made this team what it is..... Not good enough!

Wasted picks on players, Wasted picks to move up, Letting Vets walk with no back up ready to go!

First of all I didn't whitewash anything, I said go ahead and fire AJ, at best he's been average but extremely lucky with some of our FA and UDFA finds like Gates, Garay, Tolbert, Barnes etc...and very lucky to get Jared Gaither.

But you know what would help? If Norv drew up something other than strait ISO on every single 1st down. Rivers has been playing from 3rd and 10+ a lot more than usuall this year, and a HUGE part of that is because Norv loves to burn 1st downs.

Rivers has had a couple really bad finishes like KC and NYJ, but both those games are wins if we didn't settle for FGs, field position punts, and make countless stupid penalties earlier in the game. Just because the last image you have is of Rivers throwing the ball away in desperation doesn't mean the whole game goes on his shoulders...a lot of **** led to that point. We've also had some losses where he's been the only difference between a blowout and a last ditch effort to win it in the 2 minute drill.......which of course it looked like the first time our offense had ever practiced it was in a live game.......POOR COACHING, POOR PREPERATION.

And you know whats funny? We've run SOOO many more tosses, traps, and mis-direction on 1st down the last two weeks, and sure enough our running game is finding more success, as is Philip Rivers.........coincedince? Hardly. Norv senses he's about to be fired (again) and he's opening up the playbook.

Your mostly right, but the part about Norv saving his job is wrong. Norv is now interviewing for another job as he KNOWS he has been canned for what he did this year to our team. Lookin like hes gonna land another job imo.
