Be aware...Yet a another (semi) positive post!

    2007

13 teams with winning records in the entire NFL that leaves 60% of the teams with losing records. Of the 40% of the teams with winning records, 7 are in the AFC and 6 in the NFC. Three of the teams with winning records are at 6-5 (Chargers, Lions and Titans). We have or are scheduled to play 6 of the 13 teams…Since we are one of the teams, that is ½ of those teams.

Our remaining schedule is played against teams with a combined record of 27-31. Only two of our 5 games are against teams with winning records as previously mentioned.

Thus far we have played to the tune of a schedule that reads 69-52. This is boosted of course in that we have played 4 of the best teams in the NFL (record wise). BTW we are 1-3 in those games. Our other 2 losses came to teams with a combined record of 9-13 (KC and Minn) I like to call these the "we just lost to who" games.

We have a LEGIT tough schedule. No if’s and’s or but’s…But the difficult part is past us. Of our 5 losses, we got our asses handed to us with no chance of winning in one of the games (NE), the other losses to Minnesota, KC, GB, and JVille gave us a legit shot at the game, we just couldn’t find a way to win.

Comparing schedules of some of the better records teams is interesting…

NE 58-63 (4 teams with winning records)
Dallas 54-67 (3 teams with winning records)

Sure we have played like hell, but we have played against some very good 2007 NFL Teams…Our record is partly because we have played the best. Stats don’t lie…

We still have our problems, but the hope is that they’re in the past…We looked better in most aspects of the game versus a good defense on Sunday… Continuing is the hard part. Our upcoming schedule is promising by fellow fans…

All right now, little Mr. Sunshine .....

You're right, TBF - we've played a tougher schedule to date than last year's, & the worst is behind us. I just hope that we use the next few weeks to learn how to play up to our potential.

Having a tough schedule combined with seven something new coaches didn't help our cause. I could take most of the losses, but the one that really sticks in my craw is the loss to KC. We had no reason to lose that game at home, but we did anyways.

Hopefully the team continues to get better, and we can get on a winning streak here at the end of the year.

He's angling for the vacant slot in the White House press operation. He has a crush on Dana Perino.

KC and Minny were the only two losses that were unacceptable. We have a chance for redemption on one of those this Sunday. Make it happen.

Too bad those teams will not be in the playoffs...

being 1-3 against teams with winning records does not bode well for playoff hopes (assuming this team makes it to the playoffs...)

Agreed. The KC loss was one of the worst home losses I've ever seen. And I had season tix through the Welihan/Queef years. Up by 10 points at the half to a mediocre KC team and we lose by 14. I still shake my head in disbelief at that one.

More intensity and more confidence like we played with last Sunday may just change the odds. Timing is everything and if the trend continues, we peak at the right time. Then anything can happen. The playoffs are a crap shoot for everyone.

    Yep.

The time to get on a hot streak is NOW. Perfect time to get it going and run right into the playoffs.

    Agreed.

All the rest of the games we lost did not sting as much as this loss at home. Not even the Patriots game did I get as pissed as I did when we lost against the Chiefs. I am looking forward to unleashing some steam in Las Vegas with the rest of the rowdies this weekend. We need to exact some pay back compliments of my Bolts. :bolt:

    Challenge...

I am going to put all of my BOLT CASH on the line as well...I challenge everyone else to do the same. We can either go bankrupt as a board, or take all the imaginary money from the Bolt Talk mint.

    See you in vbookie.

There are liars, damn liars, and staticians.

For example if we go 11-0 and New England is 6-5 your records look like

    San Diego opponents 64-57
    New England opponents 63-58

    Astute observation. :tup::lol:

Agree...Numbers can tell an interesting story...

If my Aunt Betty had nuts the size of a small county in Oklahoma, she would be my Uncle Betty with nuts the size of a small county in Oklahoma...

If we were 11-0, we would not be having this conversation and you and I would be looking for late January/Early February hotel deals in AZ.
