Anyone else think that Oakland's "DIRT" field may have contributed to players getting hurt??? :icon_shrug:

    I'm sure it didn't help.

Nah. Watched the play where LT got hurt, and a guy landed right on his lower leg. We are lucky that his leg wasn't broken due to the way it got bent.

Jamal and Luis both injured their elbows, I'd have to watch again, but I'm not sure if they were on the dirt part of the field when it happened, and with the way Oakland was running the ball, it was probably just due to a lineman landing on it funny.

Both offensive line injuries were cheap shots that had nothing to do with the dirt. The whistle had blown long before Oakland's lineman went low on our offensive lineman, and they should have gotten a penalty. Rivers got called for taunting when they went low again after the whistle.

and all those years before the Padres moved to Petco, we had to play on the dirt, we did not have a problem then. The dirt was not the problem. The Raiders came out fired up, and they were hitting hard.

I don't think so, but I bet Al-Land is the only dirt field left in the league

    Dirt don't hurt.

    Now that... hurts.

The dirt didn't make it better, but the main reason was
the Raidurs fight with mad intense, fired up by a coach,
who knocked out his assistant. Oakland is stucked with
players the Spanos familiy never would even shake their hands.

yah. What will get OLinemen hurt is having DLinemen get behind them. That's when legs get fallen on.

Hard to argue that... Some of our boys did look soft...

I remember watching the first pre season game that I TIVO'd.... I believe we played the Seahawks. One of their players was interviewed on the sidelines. He noted that the Chargers were visibly out of shape and grasping for breathe.

Maybe it's just a matter of our team having a soft TC. Possible???

That won't matter after week 2 or 3 as all teams will have their legs and season shape in full swing...

It looks to me like our lines aint as big and bad as some thought. The Dud's took it to our boy's and hurt them, however they did regroup and start playing. Almost to late though.
