What I am concerned with is the Bengals selling out against the Chargers on DEC. 26th. That's supposed to be a Sunday Night game, but I think it will be flexed, and even so, if it doesn't sell out, then I am screwed, and would have to watch it on the computer like I usually end up doing, UGH.

I didn't even realize that was a scheduled SNF game! I definitly think it gets moved back to a normal time due to the Bengals being awful, maybe 1:15 PST.

It really is time for the networks who rely upon the fans watching the games and accounting for their ratings to never again sign a contract allowing for blackouts. With the Internet as widespread as it is they are merely losing their viewers to people who watch the games online when it is blacked out locally. The Fans should be bringing this to the attention of the Networks who seem oblivious to the problem. They are driving their viewers to the medium that will eventually destroy their own business.

Only games I see getting "flexed" as replacements that week would be NYJ @ CHI or NYG @ GB

    Oh have the times changed.

Growing up in the time of black and white television they never broadcasted a NFL home game. NEVER.

It wasn’t until people started to complain they could not get into the game because it was sold out, then the NFL came around and listened to the people. As long as the game was sold out, they could broadcast the home games. The owners were happy as they made money from both sides. The people were happy they could now watch a home game. Then as we all know television helped build the NFL into what it is today.

Chargers announced Monday that the blackout was lifted for this week's game. As of Monday, only seats left were about 1200 in club level and those do not count toward lifting a blackout. We might see close to 70,000 at this game.

I'd like to take this opportunity to tell EVERYONE: Wear your flak jackets. And be sure to get the ones that have the kevlar under your armpits and down around your love handles, since that's likely where Raider fan will stab you on Sunday.

You make it sound as if those were the Good Ole Days. Waxing nostalgic? Just don't watch the home games...
