We can't sign a talented malcontent, Thurman's the type of player the Raiturds or the Donkies sign let them have him.

He has no concept of time and has problems with his ears [hears only what and when he wants to hear] why would the Chargers want this poison in the locker room????

Might as well have AJ sign PacMan Jones, at least he knows how to make it rain baby!!

    Stan :rivers17:

We need this dude-why? Our back eight are among the best in the league already, if not the best. I think this might be like eating hot dogs that have change colors.

Because he is a talented player better than any inside linebacker on our roster. He worked hard to get reinstated and Marvin Lewis said they released him because he missed too much time but this was because his grandfather died  Polk Dobbins should be cut. Cooper Wilhelm should be backups and Odell and Waters should start

Don't need him, don't want him. Why don't you go pimp him to 49er fans? That appears to be your favorite team.

Won't deny his talent, but Thurman can't gurantee that he'd stay out of trouble LONG enough to play. How many games has he ACTUALLY played in the last 3 seasons?:icon_shrug:

He would be unbelievable alongside P-Willy but the 49ers only want players who have a history of being obedient  Manusky and Singletary would turn Odell into a perennial pro bowler  I also love the Atlanta Falcons offense and Indianapolis Colts defense as long as Eric Foster makes the team

It seems almost humorous that a team as stacked as the Colts would heap such praise on an undrafted rookie, but team sources tell us the Colts are genuinely excited about what DT Eric Foster brings to the table. A third-team Associated Press All-American in 2006, the Rutgers product had a stellar collegiate career, but his small size (6-1, 273 pounds) scared off teams from drafting him. Quick, undersized tackles have a long history of thriving in coach Tony Dungy’s defense, which is predicated upon getting a strong pass rush from the front four, and Foster has a chance to be the next in line.

There is no spot on this team for Cincys problems. We have a few we are trying to get over as we speak.

I'm still on MTL's ignore but, what they hell is he thinking...? A shitbird is a shitbird... You can polish it with talent all you want, in the end, it's still a **** bird.

Talent is only one aspect of what a player needs to fit in with and contribute to a team. Thurman is obviously a head case. Thurman's baggage is a lot to drag around in a locker room and on a football field. Polk's been on the bubble for a while. Dobbins is a heavy contributor on special teams and is now starting the third year of his learning curve. Probably not the time to give up on him before we see the results of training camp and the preseason. Cooper will start, Wilhelm will have to fight for his starting position. AJ and Norval like Cooper a lot.

He would be the second DT they got as a UDFA in as many years that they are excited about. Penn St DT Ed Johnson not only made the team, he ended up being a starter for them and led their all DL in tackles.

Ya but he had 1 puny sack. Foster can get 7-8 sacks a year, maybe more given Dwight Freeney and Mathis

So? He was a rookie and led the Colts DL in tackles during the season and then went out against us in the playoffs and had 9 more.

I agree that Thurman is a talented beast of a player .... when he has his head in the game. And, on the surface, it looks like the stated reason for his release is BS. With Cincy's record for malcontents & trouble-makers, there's probably a zero-tolerance policy there & Thurman had other issues than missing a workout to attend his grandmother's (father's?) funeral.

Either way, I don't see AJ taking a chance on him & I agree with that stance. There's way more involved in building a winning team than simply athletic prowess.
