RT @caplannfl Shocker: I'm told the Panthers have waived DE Everette Brown.

    AlbertBreer Albert Breer
Crazy ... The Panthers traded their 2010 first-round pick to select Brown with SF's second-rounder in 2009. 49ers got Iupati with that pick.
Wondering how fast the H/C of the Donkos respond to this newz?

Trust me people, I don't haphazardly sacrifice chickens. Coop will get shown the door quite soon and by the recent posts I've read, it seems that there will be a parade in downtown Everywhere. He's just winging it at the moment (literally and figuratively). I too have watched the tape on him in his preseason "performance" and the dude was nowhere near the ball at any time, and that includes warmups.
The Coop will be gone soon, so you all might as well start looking for someone else to doom. This ship is about to depart.

Scott Tolzien claimed by 49ers. Colin Baxter claimed by Jets.

Seems like the Scrub Bowl was an audition to play for either team.

It is too late though. Meanwhile back at the ranch we've lost 2 v promising players i.e. Tolzien and Baxter.

Speaking of 'scrub bowl' the Niner announcers were bigging up Alex Jospeh a LB on the Niner team and he was cut yesterday too ala Tolzien. Maybe we should get that guy in here and dump Coop.

Don't be greedy and emotional. We have a good team and the luxury to be able to be more selective. LOTS of others would love to be in our position.

Tolzien went where I figured he would...... he so far outplayed Krapenshit it wasn't even funny.

Baxter, AKA Raggedy Andy has a ways to go. How can a Jets O-line full of 1st rounders find room for a project like that?

Personally I think you are a bit too hard on Baxter. OL'ers are all rough to start out. He did farg up the Scrub Bowl... (but one game doesn't make a career... unless its a Super Bowl).

I'm just saying that he's a project...... not that he can't be a player someday. I don't see him as ready to compete at this level right now. The Jets are putting him on their 53 man roster, not their practice squad.

Well its that time of the year Blew. We all have our favorite scrubs and a lot of them don't make it. That said it doesn't make me wish to turn the clock back to 2001... (football wise anyway... :)).

The only thing that chaps me about Tolzien and Baxter is that we kept a one-armed man in lieu of either. That makes absolutely no sense to me, especially when we just signed another veteran backup LB. If ever there was a superfluous player, his name is Stephen Cooper....... #imjustsaying

The roster Saturday of the cuts rarely is the same as the roster the Monday after the cuts. The Chargers may still cur or IR Coop is there is a veteran is cut that they feel would fit better.

Then why not just cut him now. Tolzien is gone, Baxter is gone, Tutu soon will be and Cooper is awaste of space. Keeping Cooper was a huge blunder-an utterly senseless one.

Couldn't agree more RC - "blunder" is a good word from the outside looking in. From the inside, they probably have considerations that we don't know about - but I'm going to be lamenting who we could have kept instead for a long spell regardless. ::beer::

I might have agreed about Schmitt over Coop until the out-of-bounds kickoff in the Cards game. That was complete brain flatulence.

    Cooper still needs to go.

The one recurring theme I am getting from Chargers Park is that they are concerned with the lack of experience at ILB. We have Spikes, a vet who has worked with the new DC in SF, a rookie and a 2nd year guy with no regular season experience. I guess Cooper is being kept to help mentor the "rooks" as the season starts until he completely physically breaks down or another veteran ILB becomes available...or we have a more pressing need elsewhere. We did get Cooper at the league minimum for an 8th year player...so when he is let go / winds up on IR it won't be a big deal financially.
If we have an open roster spot, the odds are it will be filled by another veteran ILB (if we can afford a good one).
Bottom line: the "Cut Cooper" crowd should be happier by mid-season, if not a lot earlier

At the 8+ year vet minimum, which is like 1 million.
