There was a lot to like in this game. Totally hyped on Mathews and our running game. D-Line was getting great penetration!

What a fun game - Liked what I saw of Mathews - Liked the protection for PR (even if only vs vanilla D) - REALLY liked #16, dude is a FAST M'fer - Wondering who 77 is, cause he's a big boy who took out a Bear like a Mac truck (LOVED IT) - Defense was playing with aggression and had consistent control of the LOS - Still irritated with the wide open middle on D vs the pass and super irritated with all the dumba$$ false start penalties.

But getting to see Cutler knocked around made it worth every damn penny to go to the game

Beautiful exhibition game -- no main injuries, good scrimmages

Brinkley, Reed, Applewhite and Thomas should be inside 53.

...and if Novak didn't set the 41 near the post.. he maybe
could have sat Kaeding with his clear 48 on the sideline.

I read in the ESPN's game notes that "Chargers WR/PR Craig Davis sustained a hip pointer on a punt return in the first quarter and didn't return..."

Good grief! The guy is very talented, but he sure is a "damage magnet" as far as injuries are concerned. Well... let's see if he can go next Saturday against the Cowboys.

Quick note on the Bears "D"...Urlacher and Peppers really didn't show me much, especially against our starters. I'm talking individual effort and impact, not vanilla defensive scheme.

Quick notes on our "D"...the D-line looked great, I even saw Castillo push two guys into the pocket going after the QB. Enjoyed the run defense and I liked the blitzes off the edge. It also nice to see someone wearing the # 31 jersey getting dirty and making tackles. The pass defense needs work, but it looks like they are going to be much more physical out there. Brandon Lang is a keeper.

This just in: The Chargers have a running game!!!

Did anybody else think that # 29 Marcus Mason looked a lot like the 2009 version of LT?

If he is substantially dinged, even if it isn't season ending, the kind of performances we got out of the rest of the receivers makes his position precarious. There are guys on the squad who can catch and run and do it for more than a game or two in a row. If he can't stay healthy, than they can't carry him.

Finally had a chance to sit down & watch the game.

It's preseason so I'm not gonna waste much time.

Some of you should back away from the kool-aid. Does that mean I'm being negative? No, because I realize that it's pre-season & am not reading too much into our weaknesses yet. I just wouldn't read too much into our supposed strengths yet either.

Only a few things that I will say ....

I found Green to be a pleasant surprise at LT, particularly in the run game.

Is the #31 jersey a curse? Vasher sucked ***.

Mathews looked good & is a prime example of how a RB makes an OL look good.
