How the Fark do I get drawn into these situations when I haven't even posted in this thread yet ???

lucky I'm such a nice guy and have a thick skin or I may well be doing a "Jonathan Martin" turtle impersonation right about now !!!! .....Sheeeeeesh !!!! ;)

So, got home late last night from Washington, disappointed would be the understatement of the year normally, but after having some time to reflect on the entire game and putting it all into proper perspective, to have got as close as we did, with the personnel we have available, certainly wasn't the worst performance a Charger team has put forth.

Oh sure, losing like we did in the end makes it feel that way immediately after, but seriously, look at the names on the jerseys these days and tell me we are a serious contender on any given week ! ....... Guy, Lissemore, Gachkar, Marshall, Keiser, Addae, Bird, Walker, Patrick, Ornberger, etc etc, these guys are all on the field when the games on the line and at least busting their arses off, forget the fact they are backups or in some cases "backup's to the backups" .........it's the likes of players that were drafted and expected to lead this team that haven't performed anywhere near what is acceptable ....

English, Cox, Wright, Gilchrist, Stuckey, Vincent Brown (seriously dood! Learn to shed a tackle and force yourself into the game), these are the guys that haven't stepped up in the least of late and then throw in some absolutely mind-bottling coaching calls from either McCoy, Pags or Whizzlestick (has anyone owned up to that last drive set of calls yet ?) and it's a recipe for exactly what took place on Sunday afternoon.

At 4-4 I honestly think this team is overachieving currently! now that may not last due to many factors that lie ahead in the next 8 weeks, injury, tiredness of players who aren't used to playing the minutes they are etc etc.......... But so far, I find it hard to be overly critical of the effort of some of these "no names" presently, then gain, maybe that's just me getting mellow in my old age ???

I see there have been plenty of ideas as to what "shoulda, coulda, woulda" on our last drive to win the game in regulation and it's hard to argue with any of it........... Having the ball at the 1, 2 TO's available, plenty of time on the clock, games "ours to lose" so to speak ........ I have to think that there's some going on behind the scenes that we the fans aren't privy too when it comes to Rhino, even a moderate watcher of the game couldn't understand why he wasn't at least in on the play either as the primary source or even a decoy, that's a no brainer.

Where's McClain, he is still a FULLBACK isn't he ??? ....... Where's Ronnie Brown ????........he is still employed as a short yardage specialist I assume.........what is it we pay these guys to do ???

He'll, I'd have been absolutely fine to have seen farging KING DUNLAP lining up behind Rivers at the 10 yard line, working up a "full steam ahead" attitude........I dare anyone in the game to front that man on, even at a canter.

But to just woefully bow in the manner that we did is totally unacceptable under any circumstances, that isn't going to win anyone over and surely McCoy has been in the game long enough to realize that.

Well, with the Donks coming to town this weekend, no time for "cryin' over spilt milk" .... It's an arsewhipping to nothing if they aren't fully committed against this bunch, they'll show no mercy and rightly so...........should be a good indicator of what this teams character is about, if nothing else.

    Wow! Stupid players!!!

    --Mike 'Massengill' McCoy

p.s. "Sure, the 'haters' will second-guess my letting the game ride on a 78 yard field goal try, but if
he'd made it, no one would complaining. Amirite?!? No second guessing my regime!!!! That is all."

Why am I reminded of an inexperienced upper class English officer sending his seasoned under class soldiers into an ill-fated assault on a heavily defended enemy trench line?

Ours not to reason why, ours but to do and die. ;)

I haven't made comment yet on said graphic, so very very slack of me.

Masterful, funny and thought-provoking as always, as much as I hate having to shower you with praise, you are "Thee" Chop-Chop Master of the Universe, of this I am certain.

after all these years I still find myself "waiting with bated breath" for midnight to roll around on game days, so I guess that means you're doing something right, ya Corkholster. ;)

Struth! It was the story of a Boy moll falling in love with a would be digger. He misses him so much he follows him into the war where many shenanigans and tender moments ensue!

nope, that's Mel alright, in one of the most critically acclaimed Aussie movies of all time, no less .....

maybe I was getting that one mixed up with Heath Ledger in Brokeback Mountain ??? :whistling:

Mind you, Russell has also gone down that path early in his career with a movie called " The Sum of Us"

Damn, what is it with all these Aussie macho types playing gay characters ???? .......... Maybe we are all "Pooftahs" afterall ??????? (PC waiver invoked....Not that there's anything wrong with that ofcourse) ;)

I was sort of kidding. They weren't overtly gay but definitely loved one another and the relationship made up for the lack of female love interest in the story.

    *edit*
and russell is a kiwi. always take the piss on our islander rivals but then claim them when they go big:roflmao:

Ofcourse, that's the Aussie way .........

Hell, Mel was born in America too! but that never stopped us from claiming him as "one of our own" !!! :D

Well, there's nothing quite like a good love story involving soldiers during War Times I say.......

wasn't that what "Saving Ryan's PRIVATE" was about ???????? :whistling:

I thought you were going more for Blackadder than gay Aussies (bit of a redundancy there), but what do I know?

    Here's another good one:
“This is a good football team,” Head Coach Mike McCoy said about Washington. “They had one of the top offenses in the league up until last week I believe statistical. They just haven’t won the games, so people overlook that. But they have had a great running game with (Head Coach) Mike Shanahan for a long time. Whatever team he’s been around they’ve been able to run the ball effectively.”

How the hell did I miss that one ???????

maybe that's why she left Ol' Rusty back in the day, because he was a little too jittery with a Bic in hand ????? :D

oh yeah Mike, good call.

Sure, Morris is no slouch! we all knew that coming in, but how do you explain the fact that a guy who the redskin faithful knew nothing about (oh yeah, those around us at the game were laughing their arses off and asking each other who the hell this guy Darrel Young was) and Pierre Garcon, who hasn't been sighted since Bob Sanders was still wearing Colt colors, yet we help him get a lifetime contract deal !!!!

Ol Mikey Boy sure is setting himself up for a doozie of a fall if this spin keeps dribbling from his mouth for much longer.

Yep, though you could just as easily apply it to any English campaign of the last 200 years or so. ;)

Man, how badly do we suck at getting a team off the field on 3rd downs ????

And I'm not talking 3rd and shorts either......... Hell, most of those 12 they got were double figure plays, just NO excuse for that type of ineptness, time and time again! just shows that Pags has NOTHING in the playbook as far as a Plan B when a team can convert at the rate opponents do against us.

And who the hell was that penalty on for a late hit on the QB ????

My god! how long do theses guys have to play the game to understand there are times you may take that chance and there are times when you don't !!!..........OT with a team at their own 20, would be one of those times YOU DON'T under any circumstances, even Pee Wee guys would understand that.

Is there a double negative in there somewhere ?????

Mikey Mikey Mikey ........ If you can't say something worthwhile and far less stooooooopid, how about we just say nothing at all in the future.
Trust me, it will help prolong your Head Coaching career in the long run.

There isn't going to be a "long run" for McCoy's HC career if Tennessees & Washingtons keep happening.

Well let's correct that by saying, there probably "shouldn't be" Lancelot.

But let's NOT forget who we are dealing with here when it comes to ownership and as we are all to well aware, they enjoy changing coaches about as often as Pumpkin takes showers, so therefore regardless of what Ol' Mikey does between now and 2015, he's fargin GOLDEN, whether we like it or not.

I get that frustration with not changing a guy like marty who couldn't win without a last place schedule but there really wasn't a reason to change out Norv other than the 'ole "change of scenery" thing that yanks like so much
