Among the offseason surgeries just announced by the Chargers, the most serious was to tackle Marcus McNeill, who had a neck operation performed three weeks ago. Recovery time was estimated at 5 months, meaning McNeill should be ready for the start of training camp in late July.

"He should be absolutely fine," General Manager A.J. Smith said.

Here are the other surgeries, with all recovery times estimated at 4-6 weeks:

    – DE Jacques Cesaire, shoulder
    – FB Jacob Hester, knee
    – OL Scott Mruczkowski, shoulders
    – WR Kassim Osgood, wrist
    – P Mike Scifres, knee
    – QB Charlie Whitehurst, shoulder
    – LB Matt Wilhelm, shoulder
    – NT Jamal Williams, knee/shoulder
