The Chargers were on the field for Day 1 of training camp on Saturday but according to Head Coach Marty Schottenheimer, camp unofficially got underway on Sunday.

"The Oklahoma drill is the inaugural act of every training camp that I've been involved in," Schottenheimer said.

Following the team's lone solo Sunday practice, coaches lined up the gauntlets and let the players have it in the popular drill that is a staple of Schottenheimer's camps. The drill begins with a quarterback handing off to a running back while a blocker and a defender square off in front of them in a lane about 3 yards wide. The defender's goal is the shed the block and tackle the ball carrier.</blockquote>
