Guys were already seeming to get stronger as the year progressed but I do agree, next year should really show the results.

Are you incapable of recognizing a zone coverage? It's not like Bront Bird was covering Thomas one on one. Weddle acknowledged there was a blown coverage on that play. He refused to single out any one player, but it was pretty obvious that Bird was not playing the right coverage. At that point in the game, the Chargers were down four starters on defense that had been injured in that game. There was a communication breakdown. The injuries caught up to them by that point in the game.

Are you incapable to understand Manning excels against the zone? I don't care if it was 3rd and 30, play physical man to man. I don't get it. Every team that played man to man on the Broncos had success, got physical with their receivers and it gave time for the pass rush to get there. It worked very well in our 2nd meeting. This was reminiscent of the 1st meeting we had with them.

Bird played the worst zone I'll ever see in my life. I understand we had injuries, but its next man up. Butler was still on the field. Why is Bird in the game?! Bird is our worst ILB. Pagano rushed 4, when he should of rushed 3. He left Julius Thomas alone, not even touched at the line.

So, it's Pagano's fault we lost, not the fact that we didn't score for three quarters..... OK. ;)

I think the Bolts lost because they played 10 minutes of offense.

Yep. We held the highest scoring offense in the history of the league to their two lowest point totals of the season, and it's all on Pags.

I believe all three games were below their season average. That hapless Chargers D held down the Broncos scoring better than any other team they played. Kinda a head scratcher, isn't it? ;)

All I'm saying is, 3rd and 17 stop, and we might be talking about how brilliant John Pagano is.

Just frustrating inconsistent play from the defense all year. I understand injuries, but tackling and other fundamentals have nothing to do with how much talent you have. Its about coaching.

Sure, there's always blame to go around, but considering the holes in the roster, they did better than many expected (though I had them as a 9-7 team... didn't know if it would be good enough to make the playoffs).

At that point in the game they were four starters down and at least one person played the wrong defense on that play. Hard to put that on Pags. When you have a **** ton of injuries during a game, that kind of thing happens.

The Broncos averaged 24 PPG against the Chargers and 39.8 PPG against everyone else.

All that was accomplished with a middling NT, suspect secondary, and dinged up LBs. Not too shabby.

The defense didn't lose the game but they did leave a takeaway or two out on the field. Classic McWhizzor is what we got and it's painfully slow.

At this point it doesn't matter who did what, it does matter that the issue be resolved regardless of cause.

I don't think so. Pretty sure it was on the linebackers.

I saw a picture of the pre-snap, and Weddle was supposed to lineup over Thomas actually. He was on the other side of the OL and recognized too late where Thomas was.
