Compare the life trajectories of suddenly weathy rookie athletes and suddenly wealth lottery winners. The Lotto winners are now out of the news but a lot of them screw up the same way. Some of their lives are utterly ruined. Too much, too fast. In the case of the rookies, a joke of an education, a pampered life in school and a fawning bunch of groupies and hangers on. Those who are born or raised with a head on their shoulders thrive, even if they make a big mark in football. DWI is just utter foolishness. Cabs are cheap. Even in Vegas. Here that Javon?

Guys, I'm willing to cut the guy some slack. How many of us have been over the legal limit and still got into our car?

First offense, I'm not going to call out his character over it.

But it brings into question if professional people in the public eye should be held to a higher standard, especially pro athletes. Many kids look up to these people as role models. Right or wrong, it does come into play.
