For pete's sake. I heard a good rehab for a sore calf is to stand in line at the unemployment office. I wonder how much longer the Chargers are going to wait before saying adios.

That's pretty funny...I don't understand why we are carrying this guy. We have a veteran in Chambers...

Trade him in a package for a better backup for Hardwick or another o-lineman.

This kind of tweak isn't only fairly common among athletes rehabbing hard from an injury like Parker's, they can be expected. This is not a big deal. It is probably on the injured limb and more than likely has to do with temporary weakness of the tendons from lack of use during recovery. It could also be due to stress from the temporary imbalance in bilateral strength. I'm content to wait and see what he does during camp and preseason. Even if you want to shed him this quick, he's someone who'll be good to have around during training camp for a number of reasons. That said, I figure he wears the bolts for one more season, at least.

That was kinda my first take as well. When something is hurt everything else is taking a little more stress to compensate and yeah, these injuries are not uncommon. But I also I agree that this string of injuries does not bode well for the guy. I would, however, like to see what he can do on the field before we just write him off. :bolt:

As I said once before, it wouldn't surprise me if he got cut, and if he made the team, it would be as the 4th reciever behind Chambers, Jackson, and Davis.

    Like we care. :icon_tease:

I'm willing to carry Parker for awhile yet. The guy has produced many drive-extending third down catches for us. As others have said, this type of injury isn't at all uncommon at this stage of his recovery. Give him a break.

Package Parker and Osgood for a draft pick.

I think that if Parker can get in there and be productive this year he could be a solid No.3 option (sorry I think buster is just so so at this point). Next year when Buster should be better and we can probably afford to lose Parker. I just hope Parker doesn't get hurt this year though.

Parker isn't healthy, and won't fetch anything until he's demonstrated he is at or above his previous health level. That means he isn't going anywhere before the preseason.

Osgood' trade value isn't worth a box of used tampons.

True however when I said that I was hoping for maybe a VERY late round pick where hopefully AJ could strike gold again. Even though he's being an idiot I think Osgood has some value and if he doesn't want to be here then we'll take the box of tampons and divide them up amongst the Chargers Girls. :bolt:

I don't think Osgood has any value.

You can find UDFA's to play gunner if you want, and all the Chargers ST's benefit from Sci-Fi's awesome hang time. Yes, Osgood is a fine special team's player, but we're ONLY talking about ST's. No other team is going to give up anything for him.

Also, Osgood became a vested veteran this past year. Once he's on the roster for game one, his base salary is guaranteed for the season. He could refuse to play ST's after game one, using his "I'm a WR" claim. The team would have little they could do to him.

I think AJ will do a pre-emptive strike and cut him the week before the regular season starts. Osgood can go find himself a new team, but he won't get the same incentives in his contract that he has here. He also will be too far behind in learning that new offense to contribute to that team (and they'll find out he sucks as a WR.)

Bolts' Osgood no-show for offseason session - UT Acee

New wrinkles? So, Osgood wants to be a WR but will be behind in learning the offense? That's smart of him. :rolleyes2::rolleyes::unsure:

Yeah, we might be able to get an undrafted rookie free agent pick with the value they bring.

I guess you'll have a new team when Parker gets cut, and ends up on whoever picks him up.

If he was serious about trying to win a starting roll, he would not be skipping these workouts. Way to endear yourself to the the new WR coach, knucklehead.

If Osgood could cut it as a WR, then he would have cracked the starting lineup over the past 4-5 years. He hasn't. Until Chambers got here and VJ learned to catch with his hands instead of his body, our WR corps have been avg. If he could not beat out Avg WRs, then that puts him at the below avg skill level.

I think you are dead on about when he will be cut. The final day he will have the tag hanging in his locker when he opens it.

    Solid post, Shamrock.

I can't see this as being anything but a no-win situation for KO.
