This is totally untrue. After military service one can choose to keep the gun / rifle. If one wants to keep it it will be downgraded to Semi Auto and a private license is required. I'm sick of those gun nut fantasies. Cheers from Switzerland

There is no waiting period for ammo, and you don't need a bgc for ammo...

You did not read what I posted. You can keep your service rifle after your military service, and yes, at that point it is downgraded to semi auto, however, while the person is of militia age (20-30, 34 for officers), the weapon is maintained in the home, and is a selective fire (full auto) weapon.

Reminder everyone, and this is the last one, if you want to have a gun control debate take it to the political section. Do not bring it here into the NFL section. This keeps up we will move the whole thread to the political section

This turned into a gun control debate? That only figures.

One of the many political hot topics that nobody on either side of the argument ever even attempts to actually understand what the other side is arguing, choosing to instead argue against the perverted strawman version of the opposing argument.

It's the same with gay marriage, abortion, economics, and just about any other political topic you can drum up and that's precisely why anytime politics or religion is brought up on the internet it devolves into nonsense and name calling. Nobody actually wants to debate these topics, they just want to be right.

It's actually rather humerus with gun control because both sides foam at the mouth acting like the other side hates safety and doesn't care if people are getting killed because they're just maniacal, when the fact of the matter is both sides of the debate wants people to be safe and merely disagree on which is safer between banning guns or not banning them (and to what level if we do ban them).

But, instead of arguing the merits of whether or not gun control would or would not prevent gun violence, the goal BOTH SIDES want, proponents prefer to compare opponents to Hitler acting like they just want to keep their toys and don't give a crap of others are being killed by them while opponents compare proponents to Hitler with the perverted argument stating both wanted to get rid of guns from law abiding citizens in some nefarious plot to ensure the pubic is unarmed and the government can run roughshod over them and criminals can take over.

This has gotten to the point that two mods have already chimed in.

I think it's a better idea to just move all the gun control related posts to a new thread there and move on.

People are prone to responding to a post they read and if this conversation has already gone there it's likely to just keep going there because people don't always read through the entire thread (and therefore see you and Ant posting these) before responding.

But that's just my personal opinion.

I won't add anymore to the topic unless it's moved, though. I just felt the need to chime in not directly on the topic but with my personal viewpoint of how people approach these topics on the internet and how wasteful said approaches are.

This is one of the dumbest threads I've ever seen on this forum (that wasn't B4L related nonsense).

Nuke the site from orbit, it's the only way to be sure.

I don't think ANYONE who's been here for any length of time could forget B4L's posts. OTOH, we might conjure him up if we talk about him, so let's pretend we didn't mention him. SHHHHHH!!

I think being a douche from time to time is a requirement of being a forum goer. Just laugh at it and roll with it. The other alternative is to get upset about it, and kick your dog... But Fido hasnt done anything to deserve being kicked...
