While I do applaud your multiplication skills, you forgot to take in to account the free agent and scout team players in the leauge. That would bump that number [1696] upwards a bit. Good looking out though.:bolt:

It's good to see our guys getting some recognition!:icon_toast:

You bring up a good point, but it's lacking in a few areas.

    1. If you were to be considered one of the 500 best NFL players, you'd actually have to make your team, right? (PS or Scout team materials are thus irrelevant)

    2. If you were a FA and you were one of the 500 best NFL players, you'd think one of the 32 teams might actually need your services.

    3. If there wasn't a cap (1696), what's to say we couldn't include UDFA. Or would you have to be a player that actually made a roster and played in a regular season game? We'd be opening pandora's box.

Not trying to call you out OLP but there's has to be a cap, and the logical number would be 1696. We are looking at the NFL's 500 Best Players.

    :abq2: Chargers = STACKED. :abq2:

The way I look at it...your a player, or your not. Regardless if you make a team. More than likely, you are right, if your that good you would assume that you would be on a team somewhere.

My case in point...Joey Harrington is 459th on this list. His backup...Chris Redman sold insurance for the last two years. In one play he could be leading the Falcons into battle on the gridiron.

Other than that, I really don't have any further topics of debate here, overall I was just pointing out that I think it is special that nearly half of the Chargers squad made it on this list...

This list made me furious...For one Rex Grossman shouldn't even be on the list period...the dude is just horrible, I'd take Cleo Lemon over him....More importantly, LT is the BEST player in the NFL right now hands down, position SHOULD NOT matter while Manning and Brady (as much as I hate them both) are elite players just because the play QB should not give them the nod over LT.

More Cromartie hype. He's ahead of Florence when he can't even start in front of Florence? I love the guy's potential too, but right now he's not there.

I'd disagree, but that would be a really, really stupid thing to do.

I'd rather see Peter King's top 500 grub n' grog spots. Now there's something he's certain to be deadly accurate on...

Most of the time, these lists are nothing more than an ego trip for the dude whose writing them up. LT was the MVP. I get bent out of shape when QB's get pimped as the best players in the league. The jury is still out on Cooper and Wilhelm, but offhand, I'd say anybody in our front seven is a better PLAYER than Manning or Brady, even the underrated Olshansky. Here's your instruction manual, Mr. King.

BTW, Quentin Jammer tells me he'll be top ten after this season.
He told King about a real nice, brand new restaurant that just opened up. Really greasy food.
