I am shocked that the Raiders, with arguably the worst roster in the league and over $60M in cap space....are letting Veldheer and Houston test the market. It's not like they're going to stick around because the arrow is pointing up, they're probably just as excited for a pay day as they are to get the hell out of Oakland.

^^^ They have to be moved to create roster spaces for future f**k ups. Commitment to weakness, bro. Like watching some sort of reverse Darwinism where the herd is culled from the top down.

Considering he's ranked 99th, I'd happily take Toby Gerhart. I think he gets underrated because he backs up Peterson, there isn't a lot of opportunity for him to shine, but he's a tough runner, I think he'd compliment Mathews & Woodhead well.

It's all about what he wants dollar-wise. I'd also like to shake the Vontae Davis/Alterraun Verner trees.

Along these lines, does anyone think we'll actually go for any of these corners? I know Telesco was in Indy when they traded for Vontae. Seems like with so many options one might be able to fit within our budget.

Oh yeah definitely. My post was more towards him being underrated and if he is going for a bargain then someone will get a very good pick up there,

I'd love to pick up a decent corner in free agency, I'm not sure how likely it is, but it's definitely an area of need for us, whereas with the running back spot we're just looking for a complimentary 3rd running back to go with the other 2 guys.

I really like Sam Shields game but im pretty sure he will price himself way out of our range. hes seems to be in the 2nd tier of the free agent cornerback market so maybe he wont get the money hes looking for.. wishful thinking but im allowed to dream right :geek:

If I were to pick 3 realistic possibilities from that list...

    OG Geoff Schwartz
    DE Tyson Jackson
    NT Paul Soliai

With strong consideration towards CB Corey Graham.

Unfortunately Shields just re-signed. 4 years, $39 million, after Grimes got 4/32. Sounds like we know the going rate for the better corners in this draft. Not exactly a game we can afford to play.

Also would like Soliai. Sounds like Raji will make it to free agency, but I get the sense he'll be out of our price range.

Chris Harris Jr is intriguing to me, he's been arguably one of the top 10 CBs in the league the last 2 years, and the Broncos hit him with a 2nd round RFA tender.

The torn ACL is the only reason I'd be against making a serious offer to snatch him away.

Cam freaking Thomas. God Bless America.

Toby Gerhart is a great option at RB. Fresh legs, young, and backed up a great in Peterson in Minnesota.

Think we're looking at guys along the lines of,
    RB Toby Gerhart
    RB James Starks
    WR Andre Caldwell
    WR Micheal Spurlock
    OL Mike McGlynn
    OL Danny Watkins
    OL Will Yeatman
    DL Terrence Cody
    DL Antonio Johnson
    DL Fili Modal
    DL Al Woods
    LB Patrick Angerer
    LB Joe Mays
    LB Jameel McClain
    LB Darryl Sharpton
    LB O'Brien Schofield
    LB Wesley Woodyard
    CB Javier Arenas
    CB Will Blackmon
    CB Corey Graham
    CB Jabari Greer
    CB Captain Munnerlyn
    CB Eric Wright
