So if you're a San Diego Chargers fan, right now your thinking a long term contract for Philip Rivers is a must. Turns out this guy doesn't just talk the talk, but he walks it too.

Even though Rivers doesn't have that ring on his finger yet, his numbers say it all. Ben Roethlisberger, despite winning the Super Bowl, ended the year with a quarterback rating of 80.1. Eli Manning, winner of last year's Super Bowl, finished this year with a quarterback rating of 86.4. Both Eli and Ben were drafted in the same draft as Rivers, but yet they don't even come close to his quarterback rating of 105.5...well nobody does for that matter.

This guy is still young and the Chargers should make sure they sign him for a real long time. The Chargers needed somebody to step up and lead their team. Rivers rose to the occasion. Not only did he help the Chargers retain their title of reigning AFC West Champions, but in the process, he also became the best quarterback in the NFL.

The most solid part of the team is Philip and that's the first thing San Diego should make sure is guaranteed. Second, they should sign LT for a long term contract, but that's a different story.

Do you think there is any kind of trend with quarterbacks and winning Super Bowls? It seems Eli and Ben have won their rings; is Rivers next in line? If he is, that would make three Super Bowl QBs out of the same draft. Maybe Vick will come back and win one too, who knows?

Anyways, the point is, Rivers is one of a kind and we need to make sure he is taken care of. As long as he stays injury free, defenses will shutter in fear when he steps on the field. Philip Rivers is on a clear path to the Super Bowl with the Chargers, and he will be a dominate force in the NFL for a long time to come!

If we just give Rivers and the offense a solid defense, we should get that coveted SB ring. Merriman, a few FA pickups and a whole year with Rivera could do the trick. And staying healthy.....:bolt:

Brees was right? Didn't they trade the #1 pick [essentially vick] to ATL and they got Brees/LT instead?

I would love to see Drew get a ring too someday. Maybe in between a couple Bolts titles?

Sign PR for life np~
