The Broncos are already the defending champions in the AFC West, but if signingPeyton Manning makes them better, Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers says bring it on.

Rivers said he’s hoping the Broncos sign Manning because he would enjoy the challenge of playing against Manning twice a year.

“It would make it that much tougher to win the West,” Rivers said on San Diego’s XX 1090 radio, via the Denver Post. “All the sudden, at least from a media’s perspective, it would become a division that’s not lost in the shuffle like it’s been in years past. I kind of hope that that’s the case just because it’s always fun to play a Peyton Manning-led football team. To play him twice a year that would be a battle like crazy to win the division. I hope it happens. One thing you know about him, he’s going to be thorough and make the best decision for him that gives him the best chance to go win. And if that ends up being Denver then it will be exciting.”

So just as he once waved goodbye to Jay Cutler, Rivers is now ready to wave goodbye to Tim Tebow, and welcome Manning to the division.

Couldnt agree with philip any less.. not even because of playing against peyton but because that means we wont be playing against tebow.. theres nothing more id like then to sweep the broncos next year blowing them out both games and making tebow look like the scrub that he truly is

Philip pretty much owns Peyton, so why not? That's exactly the kind of comment you expect from a competitor like Philip.

Bah! Phil's gonna play ironman; he's been watching Necessary Roughness and channeling his inner Scott Bakula. He's out to prove that not only Antonio "Are you #6, #7, or #24?" Cromartie can pick off Peyton thrice in a single game.

Worst part about that movie... and I don't care that he was old (or that when she was younger Harley Jane Kozak was hot), how in the sweet EFF does the center end up with a hotter chick than the quarter...

oh wait... David Binn... nevermind, Binn trumps all.

Let's see, Rivers wants to get rid of the guy who miracled his way through the defense twice a year, and replace him with the guy the Chargers have owned for years.

I don't really care about the two times we play him per year. Its fine Phil is competitive and wants to play the best. But I care about the 14 other games that our division rival will be playing. Manning gives them a better chance to win those games than Tebow does which would give them a better division record. That's what bothers me.

If he goes to the Titans, Phil still gets to see him come to San Diego this year and can have his fun then.

It won't matter who the QB is in Denver if we only win 8 games again next year...

I'm a lot more worried about KC's 4th place schedule being coupled with all of their star players not being injured within the first 2 weeks of the season.
