SAN DIEGO - One of the biggest off-season additions to the Chargers ran behind his blockers in practice, barely noticeable to the eye, much less the defenders trying to corral him. While he remains one of the team's biggest off-season pickups, the word "big" is rarely used in conjunction with the rookie's name.

At 5 foot 6, 175 pounds, Darren Sproles is attempting to become a huge pain in the neck in a sport filled with big men. Of all the players I saw on my 35-day training camp tour, Sproles just may be more intriguing than everyone else. He's a shorter version of the former Giants great David Meggett, a giant pain in the you-know-what for defense after defense. Sproles has that same unique potential to cause fits on offense and in the return game.
