just curious, but do the highest seeded teams play on Sun? Like, if the Chargers are number one seed, are their playoff games on Sun. As if nobody would understand my question, I proceeded to suply an example...

So if I'm reading this right the first playoff game should be Jan 13th? Southwest has the cheap flights right now ($49). :icon_shrug:

    Yup.

We will play on Sunday the 14th and get the extra day of rest because we are the number one seed.

With a win this weekend as I understand it another record will be broken.

The team record for wins in a single regular season of play is 12. Another win will give our 06 team 13!!!

From my understanding, if we win, baltimore wins and indy wins, dont we clinch? Because of the 3 way tie thingy? Im not so sure it will go that far as off a 3 way tie but can someone clarify this?

    Huh?

We clinch a bye if everyone wins is all.

A three way tie requires us to lose a game so your question does not make sense? In a three way tie, they look at conference records and then Games in common where we win in both instances.

edit. actually we do not win in both instances and only the common games tie breaker

Let me see if i can open it more....

If we win we will be 13-2
If baltimore wins they will be 12-3
If indy wins they will be 12-3
at this point...couldnt you assume the next scenario...

    with one more game, if..
we decide to finish at 13-3
    baltimore finishes at 13-3
    Indy finishes at 13-3
the 3 way tiebreaker would apply, right?

so my question is this, if the first scenario does happen, all 3 teams win, would if matter what happens the final game?
and if we win, baltimore loses and indy wins, do we get the tiebreaker?

In this case above, all teams are tied and conference records are tied as well, the Chargers win based on common opponent wins (min. 4)

The Chargers are undefeated in this tie breaker and get the number one seed.

Indy could still lose their last game and blow the three way tie thingy.

So pretty much, if the chargers win out, we get the 1st seed.
If we lose one and end up in a 3 way tie, we get the 1st seed.
If Balt loses and we win sunday, we get the 1st seed.
If we lose one and balt and indy win out, we need to win the last game to force a 3 way tie......pretty much, lets win out to avoid these complications. I am guarenteeing a baltimore lose on sunday.

Right, but then both play before us week 17 so if we all win in week 16, we would have the number 1 seed locked up before we play if both Balt. and Indy wins or if Balt loses.

The only way we wouldn't have the number one seed locked up (if we all won week 16) by the time the early games are over week 17 is if Balt wins and Indy loses.

Yeah it does because of the tie breakers.

The simple answer is just win out otherwise if Baltimore loses and we win, we can play our back ups against Zona.

Ok here are the ONLY ways we get homefield advantage. This is THE official list authored by me!!!

    1. Win out (duh)

    2. Win one more and Balt lose one more OR Indy wins out (doesn't matter what weeks those happen).

    3. Win none and Indy loses one AND Balt loses AT LEAST that many.

If there was a 3 way tie, Baltimore would go ahead of us, and that is because they beat us. So they own the tie breaker.

We need to take care of business in Seattle, that game is huge.

That give us the possibility of being able to rest our starters against the Arizona Football Cardinals.

In a three way tie head to head only comes into play if ALL THREE teams have played each other. since we have not then the tiebreaker would be common opponents (at least four) and we are 5-0 against opponents that we have in common with both indy and baltimore, indy is 4-1 and baltimore is 2-2 with pittsburgh still yet to play...Bolts Win!

    Yup.

The head to head does not count since the Colts/Chargers/Ravens have not played each other so it goes to common games. (everyone has not met head to head in these three teams)
