Updated: With the imjury to Ingram, and the new signings, figured it was time for an update to the list...

So, since I am amped up after getting some new blood on the team and I'm bored, thought I'd put an educated guess into our 53 man roster. My guess is we will sign 3-5 more players before TC, and we may also be a player in the cuts after June 1st and during TC, not too mention raiding a PS or 2, so I will attempt to make a guess at positions that may change before game 1. So here is my guess, let me know your guess:

    OFFENSE(25):
QB(2) - Rivers - Whitehurst (Could see them cut Whitehurst and sign a vet of there choosing)
RB(4) - Mathews - Woodhead - Brown - McClain (Could be Gronk over McClain to save money and go faster)
    WR(6) - DX - Allen - M80 - VB - Meacham - Royal (Meacham\Royal are just not cuttable at their cap cost)
    TE(3) - Gates - Phillips - Green
    OT(4) - Starks - Fluker - Dunlap - Becton
    OG(4) - Rhinehart - Troutman - Clary - Ohrnberger
    C(2) - Hardwick - Molk

    DEFFENSE(25):
DE(4) - Liuget - Reyes - Wynn - Veteran DE (Could keep Cotton but my guess is we will find a vet DE)
NT/DT(3) - Thomas - Geathers - Veteran DT/DE (Could be Jerideau but my guess is we sign a vet DT)
OLB(5) - Freeney - JJ - English - Williams - Veteran OLB (Expecting Williams to make it but could sign a vet OLB or go with Beltre)
    ILB(5) - Butler - Te'o - Mouton - Gachkar - Bird
    CB(4) - Cox - Wright - Williams - Gilchrist
S(4) - Weddle - Taylor - Stuckey - Veteran SS (Could be Gilly moving here, but my guess is Lynch comes back)

    SPECIAL TEAMS(3):
    P - Scifres
    K - Novak
    LS - Windt

Its early to call any of this, just a fun exercise.

Come on, he has sat there like a bump on a log for many years, you don't think he can sit there like a bump on the log between 2 guy? plenty to lean on there :)

I would think with the drafting of Manti Te'o that you'd be over the moon with excitement. ;)

Ye of little faith........ Clary sucked at tackle, but he's going to be an amazing guard. :D

QB (2) -- Philip Rivers, Brad Sorensen
RB (4 ) -- Ryan Mathews, Edwin Baker, Danny Woodhead, Ronnie Brown
    FB (1) -- Chris Gronkowski
WR (6) -- Malcolm Floyd, Danario Alexander, Vincent Brown, Robert Meachem, Keenan Allen, Eddie Royal
TE (4) -- Antonio Gates, Ladarius Green, John Phillips, Dallas Walker
LOT (2) -- King Dunlap, Nick Becton
    LOG (1) -- Steve Schilling
    C (2) -- Nick Hardwick, Colin Baxter
ROG (2) -- Chad Rinehart, Johnnie Troutman
    ROT (1) -- DJ Fluker

LDE (2) -- Corey Liuget, Damik Scafe
NT (3) -- Cam Thomas, Kwame Geathers, Byron Jerideau
RDE (2) -- Kendall Reyes, Jarius Wynn
LOLB (2) -- Melvin Ingram, Tourek Williams
LILB (2) -- Donald Butler, DJ Smith
    RILB (2) -- Manti Te'o, Andrew Gachkar
ROLB (2) -- Jarrett Johnson, Larry English
LCB (2) -- Derek Cox, Marcus Gilchrist
RCB (3) -- Shareece Wright, Marcus Cromartie, Steve Williams
SS (2) -- Darrell Stuckey, Brandon Taylor
    FS (1) -- Eric Weddle

    K (1) -- Nick Novak
    P (1) -- Mike Scifres
    LS (1) -- Mike Windt

So with 2 roster spots open, I thin we tack on one more OL and then add another player on defense, whether its NT, OLB, or DB.

    I'm extremely bored as well.

I will say this, Clary's worst issues are foot work and speed to the outside. At guard his solid punch and anchor will work to his benefit, his slowness to speed rushers will be masked somewhat and his footwork is a little less important to a guard then a tackle. Now I'm not saying he is going to be any good at it, just that he may play better at G then T (Which is not saying much I know!)

It's a different skill set, but I agree with you, I can see why he might be a better OG than OT.

I do find it interesting, albeit not surprising, that we did not draft a single guard. Very Polian'esc of Telesco.

Yes, I also think he'll have a better shot as a guard, but will he be better than the other guys they just brought in?.... time will tell.

If he's not noticeably better, they need to cut him and save the 2+ million.

What concerns me is Telesco called him personally telling him the job is still open at the OG, Even if he isn't the best at the position I feel (his can do attitude) will factor into him getting the job. We don't really know what we have in these guys but we are flooded at the OG position

Rinehart, Troutman, Schilling, Ohrnberger, Harris, Haslam, Dombrowski, Clary

I expect all having more potential to beat Clary.

Given all the doubt and I fully expect the Boo Birds to come out when I say this but I fully expect Dunlap to be the starting LT at least for this year.

Coach D loves this kid a lot, enough to actively keep in touch and attempt to recruit him through out his entire time playing football, Maybe he can convert him into a legit LT (it's not like he has never done that a handful of times in the past) Would be cool to see Becton make the squad as that young developmental LT project as well. We hay have our LT on the roster and just don't even realize it yet. We'll find out if that's the case in a couple months. I guarantee Telesco and McCoy are not going to put Rivers through memory lane of last year.

I'm with you....... that $2.3 million could bring in another veteran player that could help the team.

How many frickin' guards do we need anyway? ;)

Like I said before the draft, we're pretty much all set at the OG position. I really hope Jeromey Clary is cut, sure, give him a try at OG but I highly doubt he's even a starter come Day 1.

Again, won't be surprised to see Demetress Bell here. His best years were in Buffalo with Joe D before he decided to run for the money. In 40 NFL starts he's given up 13.75 sacks, the past 2 years only 3.5, serving mainly as a back up.

I'll say one thing though, not a fan of the DJ Fluker pick, but he does provide something in the run game. And with Johnnie Troutman and DJ Fluker potentially on the right side, they could open up some pretty big holes for this run game.

I think Malcolm Floyd might be apart of the final cuts, if not certainly at the end of the year. If Danario Alexander stays healthy, Vincent Brown is ready to go, and Keenan Allen catches on, this could be one potentially strong WR group. I still don't think Robert Meachem and Eddie Royal get cut this year, I see Royal being the kick and punt returner, as well as slot receiver in McCoy's offense, or he could possibly use him like he did in Denver. Robert Meachem, I still have hope for. Can't forget Courtney Gardner, he'll need a year to get down NFL reads, and he could be a contributor as early as 2014.

The way things are going, seems like McCoy and Telesco are trying to build a relatively young team and run with them in the future, and I love it. Philip Rivers and only a few others, will be the real "veterans".

Anybody have DJ Smith making the final cut?
He was a solid piece in the packers defense last year once Desmond Bishop went down. He tore his ACL in October and is supposedly ahead of schedule. Still young (24) and feel like Pags can work with this kid. And i think he adds good depth to our Linebacking corps. Packers fans didn't want to see him leave, I think that's says enough. Just thinking out loud though. IMHO, I think having him makes us better. Thoughts?

Well he failed his physical, so I don't know if he's ahead of schedule. I've read he is on schedule, but won't be able to do any football activities due to the torn ACL and MCL. Packers waived 2 players so they could sign 24 rookies including their draft picks to get to 90 players.

He will definitely be an asset for us once healthy. His agent said it was a busy 24 hours, fielding calls from teams, etc. Glad we got him though.

I think he has a very good chance to knock someone like Bird or Gachkar off the roster if he can be healthy enough to compete in pre-season, and contribute on STs. And if not I'd assume he will be stowed away on IR (his contract runs through '14)

OK, do remember hearing that he failed a physical with the packers, but for some reason I want to say Acee said the guy was ahead of schedule lifting weights and running and what not. I know that football activities are different. But I hope he's ready for camp. Any who, this isn't a bad situation to be in if you're the Chargers. He's not a starter but like you said he could show some significance in the rotation at ILB.

I think at best he will end up on the PUP list, at worst I'R but we can stash him on the roster, he's set to make 555,000 and 645,ooo next. not a bad gamble for a back up

I think he should be ready to go. He's 6 months removed from his surgery, he should be able to go in August. He's studying the playbook now, he'll be on the sideline throughout camps and what not, he'll catch on. He's going to be able to serve as a 3rd down linebacker, most likely for Te'o or he could be used as a hybrid blitzer, we could have 3 ILB's out on the field on 3rd down. I'm kind of excited for it, he's got speed and wraps up nicely.

Bront Bird, Phillip Dillard, and Jonas Mouton, certainly. I really like Andrew Gachkar, he played well when he had to fill in against the Ravens, and is a solid ST's guy. Probably one of the best guys we have on ST's.
