You don't win, you don't go. Besides, it's not about performance, it's about fan/media darlings.

The Pro bowl is a frigging joke.

When you punt as much as Lechler does, I think a Pro Bowl trip is the least the league could do for you.

I think, with the negative rep Rivers got around the league last year, the Chargers have to go undefeated and he has to put up godlike numbers before fans around the league vote him in.

The stats are made up thats all I can say.

I mean Norv leads this team so there is no way we could have a decent team stat in anything afterall Norv is a team killer still affecting the mighty Redskins and Raiders.

Yes that is right ever team Norv coaches becomes bad for 10 years no matter who takes over. I mean Norv is a team killer and that is the only way I can prove my point, making absurd accusations then crawl under my rock when someone proves me wrong.

Norv had zero control over the Redskins or the Raiders after he left.

That's not proof, that's the mark of Daniel Snyder and Al Davis at work.

If (or hopefully when) Norv is fired there's no set-in-stone determination of how well the Chargers will or will not perform afterwards.

on the other hand of this, why Gates? I dont think he had a probowl year. Im sure some other teams are upset about that snub, so i guess we take what we can get!

I feel Quentin Jammer was snubbed. I mean he didn't have that many interceptions and that is what "fans" go for but he has so many tackles.
Rivers is the biggest disspointment in my eyes. He absolutely got snubbed. Cutler and Favre have not had probowl seasons but Rivers deserved their spot no doubt especially since Favre won't even make the trip like always.
Michael Turner > Adrian Peterson this year.
But if you're looking for real proof of how flawed the voting process is here ya go: Antonio Cromartie recieved enough votes to be named second-alternate. Cro should have recieved zero votes but people continued to vote for him? He got more votes than Jammer, let alone some spectacular corners around the league. That is stupid. The supposed fans around the league are stupid for even voting for him.
Gates got the same love, people voted for a name not performance.

You know, Rivers might end up going anyways.

Brett Favre never goes to the Pro Bowl and, therefore, will need a replacement.

I think that we've been so spoiled the past few years with LT and Gates playing at a superhuman level, so when their performance goes down by a little but is still very high we automatically assume that they're not having pro bowl years.

With the fans, I'm pretty sure LT's public image has gone down since last year's AFCCG, however unwarranted it may be.

As far as Cro being first alternate or whatever, I have a big feeling that Redskins fans may be at least partially responsible for that. A lot of NFC fans may not pay much attention to the AFC (the opposite is partially true for me, I pay attention to AFC way more than the NFC), and the Redskins had a crazy campaign for fan voting. It's quite possible that they voted AFC players by name only, since usually a big name means you're good, even if it may not be true. How else do you explain Champ Bailey going to the Pro Bowl the last two years even though he hasn't been that great for a while?

Ok…from a Bronco fan, I would like to know why? You have over 100 post on this forum, so your IQ has increased since joining Bolt-talk. If Rivers puts up the numbers, why is he disrespected by the coaches and players of other teams. He has behaved himself this season. What is up?

Because ESPN told them he talks trash to anyone and everyone and that he's the only football player in the NFL that talks trash.

I dont know why people and coaches dont like him.......I dont dislike him outside of gameday and thats simply because he plays for the chargers.....Youd have to ask around why fans and coaches dont like him.

I would rather see Cutler get injured, then Rivers gets the much deserved trip to Hawaii.

F**k Cutler, and F**k Favre, neither deserve to go before the chosen one #17

The only good thing about it is it isn't giving room for the media to get all hyped up about Cutler. The kid just made his first Pro Bowl, like all the "experts" said he would, but the snub has taken away their best chance at knobbing Cutler for the selection. Instead they disagree with it and point to Rivers as a better qub. So Cutler's first Pro Bowl goes unnoticed and Rivers' snub gets the attention.

Everybody outside of san diego still looks @ the chargers and think its Tomlinsons team.......Which it should be.

Rivers was backing it up with wins when all the shenanigans went down.

If I recall correctly (and I do) everyone's two favorite examples to point at were a trouncing of your Broncos and a playoff win against the Colts.

He hasn't really ran his mouth much this year....the only year in his 3 years starting where his team wasn't winning more often than losing.

And if he was the selfish player everyone makes him out to be this would be the year he'd be running his mouth the most considering, stat-wise, it's the best year of his career.
