Justin Leone is a player who's hitting impressed us greatly at ST. He impressed the Padres enough to make it all the way to the final cuts.

He is leading the entire PCL in batting through 20 games:

    Games:19 AB:71 Runs: 18 Hits: 30 2B:33B: 0HR: 8 RBI:24TB:57BB:12SO:13 SB:2CS:1OBP:.500SLG:.803AVG:.423OPS:1.303

The thing that may be holding him back is 6 errors in 20 games.

He spent the previous seven seasons in the Mariners system, including 31 games with Seattle in 2004 ...this is his first in the Padres's system.

Okay, a career minor leaguer for the most part. I'm desperate for someone with some POP in their bat!!!

If he can swing the bat, he may be up quicker than even he wantsta be.

Whole 'nuther story tho, from the PCL to the Show!!

I know, I know BF. But this Offensive Outage is TORTURE to watch.
The pitching is steady for the most part, but NO ONE CAN HIT THE SIDE OF A BARN. Khalil is batting .200 aka the Mendoza Line.:icon_sad:

I have knowledge that many players dont make the jump and only make it as far as glorified AAAA players. Some guy named John Roskos comes to mind in the near past...

    From MLB.com, dated 5/7/06:

Down on the farm: Third baseman Justin Leone continues to tear up Triple-A, knocking in two runs on an eighth-inning, game-tying single as Portland went on to top Fresno, 6-4, on Saturday. For the season, Leone is hitting .330 with five doubles, eight home runs, and 29 RBIs.

Yeah, I know we're winning and winning, but his power makes me drool.

Well, Bowen went down yesterday and they called up the Kruk-clone, Paul MCNulty.

They finally sent Derwon down and called Adkins up.

According to someone on 1090, Adkins and McNulty came together, and neither slept last night cause they were too excited.:icon_mrgreen:

    Both have been up before...
