Rivers needs some pine time, IMO.

He's still our future QB, but he isn't getting the job done. 10 INT's and 10 fumbles. Right now, his ball security is crap, his velocity is crap, and his decision making is crap.

Sit him for a couple games.

I hate to agree, but it's time for PR to sit his *** down and get it together.

I would start PR but if he's not geting the job done in Jacksonville then put Volek in.

I agree. Let his play in this game decide if the bench is in his future, I think it could help.

The Saints benched Drew Brees after he started this season 0-4 and threw just 1 TD versus 9 INT, right?

    Oh wait, they didn't?

He has gone 4-1 with 13 TD and 3 INT since then?

The Oline is playing bad, The passrush is crap, the HC and DC are outmached in every game, Rivers isn't the only one playing bad, so he plays and goes down with the ship or helps this team win

    Rivers.

The person who needs pine time is Norv. The offense was just fine last year. Now with the Norvell tweaks the whole offense sucks, not just Rivers.

Football starts in the trenches and our o-line is not as good as it was last year.

Sit Norv. He has ruined this offense.

Seems to me Volek is a backup for a reason... I have no faith that he will be any better.

Hell, have PR bring his C game and hand the rock to No. 21 and everybody BLOCK. I do think if PR tanks in the first half of the Jax game, we put in Volek in the 2nd half. PR and the offense is so out of sync right now. Man, I have to admit I miss Cam Camerons offense of 2006. That team at least could score some points. Norvs offense flat out sucks big time. Start PR, if he tanks, put in Volek in the 2nd half. Jax is going to be tough as hell. They just beat a good Tenn. team in Tenn. And it's in their crib. We better get this ship righted soon or we'll be buried like we did in Minnesota.

    What's up with Rviers anyway?

Last few games Rivers has looked like the confused seventy-five year old guy wandering around the parking lot muttering " now, where did I park my car ? " or in other words... just like Ted Cottrell on the sidelines.

Rivers has played like *** as has the majority of the O right down to the Coordinator/HC.

Our players are not put into positions to shine...Firts downs have sucked resulting into far too many second and third and longs. Our line doesn't handle the blitz well and our play action isn't respected.

Rivers is part of the problem but nowhere near "the" problem.

Volek has the advantage of being able to run. We'd have a more valid option to roll out with. Right now, I'd wager he has the more accurate arm. I'd wait until the second half, but PR would have one half to play himself on or off the bench. Staying with him right now is foolish. His problems just keep growing. Some time off would more than likely settle him down, since he really hates the bench. He could channel the frustration if he has the right attitude.

I happen to like that dumb phucking hillbilly, but whatever dude...

As bad as Rivers has been, Norv has got his fist shoved so far up PR's ***, that he does what he's told. PR is very "enlisted" right now... definitely not "doing what he needs to do" to help his team out. Aside from the line caving often, the plays that Norv is calling don't give PR an opporunity. Big difference in yesterday's game even if we had run the ball 3 times from our endzone and punting versus going 2 out, and then the botched wet ball fumble.

Bench Norv, not PR- he is just doing what Norv makes him do. PR is Norv's puppet, simply put, and it sucks!

I think Rip is saying that Whitehurst should be the starter.

While I agree there is something very wrong, I am on the fence at this point. If LT was running with authority and the O-line was blocking halfassed decent, I'd be more inclined to say it's Rivers but that doesn't seem to be the case.

We all know something is wrong and I hate to say it, but I think it's coaching. This team doesn't resemble last years model.:bolt:

Hes the most physically talented QB we have ever had!

He would be an instant upgrade over that joke we have playing now

Whitehurst sucks! Why start a QB who isnt good enough to be our backup?

This is only one of very few things i disagree with you about, but its a doosey. Whitey just is not any kind of upgrade at all for this team. I does have a stronger arm and a good throwing motion but who cares? Many strong armed QB's have sucked while a total sidearmer like Romo is thriving as have others.
