    What about Castillo? Or Williams?
I would say Hart but he's a DB. As far as the defense as a whole,
Maybe Phillips should step up. He is the "other" Shawn.

    Castillo is a beast!!!
I said Castillo, give the bear some love. He almost saved the game just a missed hold short.

I voted for Shaun, and I think he already leads the defense in many ways.

I agree that Shaun can do it but I voted for Igor because he wants a contract and wants to stay. So this is a huge opportunity to step up and earn it!!! :bolt:

I’m very disappointed we are losing Merriman. With that said, I’m excited about Tucker and his potential. Don’t count him out as being a leader of this defense. He is quick, hungry and aggressive…just what we need.

Agreed. I like Waters and Siler too. I think Phillips along with Hart will step up as the leaders.

I will throw Jr. Seau in the mix as 1090 did this morning!

Can he do it? Does he provide any need? I'd be willing to bet that he can tackle and hit the gaps better than Wilhelm right now. As far as the edge goes, Tucker is our next pass rusher. But you can't beat Jrs leadership.

The answer is no, fat head. Merriman had no history of positive and none since and ligament degeneration occurs over a long period of abuse. Secondly, Phillips is probably the logical choice, but personality comes to bear here as well as play. I'd like to see Castillo step, though. He's in a position to make some serious impact.

I voted Shaun because I think that's most likely. Luis could & probably should, but I'm not certain that he has the personality for it. If Jamal were younger, maybe.

Anyone see Jammer as a possibility? :icon_shrug:

Jamal is the leader of the defense. If you paid any attention to the team you would know that. Just about every player on the defense has said that at one time or another. I don't ever recall anyone referencing Shawne as a leader.
