    Last meeting
Chargers TE Antonio Gates had three touchdown catches to lead San Diego past New Orleans, 43-17, on Nov. 7, 2004.

The Chargers have won four of the past five meetings and own a 7-2 overall series edge. Check out the historical matchup of the last five games.

    Last week
San Diego had a pair of costly turnovers in the final minutes and lost, 23-14, at Buffalo. ... The Saints blew a chance to get back into the NFC South race, falling 30-7 in Carolina.

    Keep your eye on ...
The revenge factor: This will be Drew Brees' first game against his former Charger teammates and he will be out to prove they were wrong for discarding him. Similarly, Philip Rivers will have a chance to show the Chargers were right for going with him over Brees.

Wembley's turf: In last year's game at London, the Giants and Dolphins both complained of poor field conditions at Wembley Stadium. The fact there was a steady rain certainly didn't help matters, but with rain always a possibility in London, look for the players to be careful when making sharp cuts. Vic Carucci looks at how the Chargers and Saints are adjusting overseas.

Which Saints RB will stand up?: Reggie Bush did not make the trip for the Saints as he recovers from a knee injury, so the onus will be on Deuce McAllister, Pierre Thomas and Aaron Stecker to pick up the slack. Those three lack the explosiveness in the open field that Bush possesses, but each can provide steady production between the tackles.

    Did you know?
Gates leads all tight ends with four touchdowns this season. ... Chargers WR Malcolm Floyd goes for his third straight game with a touchdown catch. ... The Saints are the second best team in the league at converting on third down. ... Since he joined the Saints in 2006, Brees has thrown for the most yards in the NFL (11,065).
