Once again I find myself pulling hard for the Raiders, it's not a natural feeling but it's also not the first time in the last few years I've done so.

This season is definitely headed in the right direction for us. Going into the bye week one game back (in the win column) is so much better than this could have been.

Chiefs coming down to their earth slightly, will continue as predicted by many of us. Gotta wonder how many Chiefs fans are still so confident this is their year, and their division.

    This is our division!

Sloppy game all around. Could have gone either way. We're still in the driver's seat. Hope we don't drive the division off a cliff lol.

That catch to get the game to OT was the luckiest catch of all time. Campbell threw it right to Flowers.

Yes sir! Guess we didn't need another epic collapse like the one the Bronco's gave us. If only the Bills could have put last weeks game to bed like they should have.

We play both these teams again, and will not lose to either of those teams. The bye couldn't have come at a better time, get our roster back and onto another division title!

The Chiefs are starting to realize they are being hunted and they are on the verge of an apocalypse.

The time bomb is ticking and here we come.

We have to worry about other teams until we're back in the driver seat.

Relying on others to let you back into the playoffs is a recipe for disaster. I would think Charger fans would know this by now with their history.

Yes. He did. The Chiefs had a San Diego-like Special Teams melt down.

I don't know if I'd say it was the luckiest of all time.

We had a chance to put our foot down on the throat of the division today and came up just short. I am not overly concerned by the outcome as much as the uncharacteristic sloppy play and number of penalties/turnovers. Those are two things we have not had all year.

    LOL I stand corrected.

Immaculate reception has to be in there too.

Hyperbole withstanding, it was a crushing moment of sheer chance.

It's a race, we aren't exactly looking up to high at you WE ARE RIGHT BEHIND YOU. And coming for you, Chiefs fans better hope their team realizes this fact that seems to elude you.

Don't tell anyone but I actually consider many of your posts useful to this forum, but now you're starting to sound like years past bronco fans.

It's not like they have much of a choice in the matter at this juncture.

But all they can do is win their games.

I don't think anyone outside San Diego has duplicated our melt downs. But glad to see others might get a little taste of it. You have Flowers to thank for that reception.

if you dont control your own destiny, you do not deserve to be there. Its that simple.

Now do i want the other teams to lose, hell yea. But the way this team is playing right now, it is not playoff caliber football.

I agree, this game did help us though. I don't think our players are getting sized for rings after it. I too prefer the mentality you bring, forget everything and focus on the task at hand.

Then I guess the Chargers don't deserve the AFC West this year since they're not in control of winning it at the moment.

The problem with this proclamation is that it basically says that only teams that win games in September and October deserve to be in the playoffs at the end. If you don't win those games you're going to have to rely on other teams to climb back.

I was certainly hoping that this win would make the San Diego game irrelevant. Guess the Chiefs are gonna have to play a whole season after all :)

That's the problem with that mentality. At this point it's not like we are hoping to sneak the division out with an 8-8 record (who had more playoff wins than our 14-2 squad mind you). It's gotta be a positive motivator for the players to know the mountain they have to climb is much more doable than it seemed two short weeks ago though. Maybe it will put a fire under their azz, who knows.

Ideally we do what everyone wants to do with special teams personnel during the bye, and get our starters back healthy. Not that anyone wants to sit Tutu or Crayton at the moment. Two weeks from now if we have a healthy Gates, and Floyd along with those two it's a great recipe for the long haul.

I don't know. We didn't look like a playoff caliber team early on in the year for the past half decade yet the Chargers still won the AFC West 4 years straight.

But that's irrelevant as I wasn't really responding to the specific team in question (this year's Chargers). I was responding to the general statement that "if you dont control your own destiny, you do not deserve to be there. Its that simple."

But, to focus on the Chargers, if they make it to the playoffs they deserve to be in the playoffs.

Hey, if any team makes it to the playoffs they deserve it. It doesn't matter how, when , where, or why.

just like in golf, it doesn't matter how, its all scoreboard baby
