No, it's definately a drafting screw up. They should have traded down, aquired more picks, and tried to fill as many spaces as possible on their roster.

    I  @ them

Funny thing is, they could have traded down 4 or 5 spots, picked up a few extra draft picks, selected Brady Quinn..... and still be in the same predicament.

Well, if Doug Flutie could be, then surely someone who could see over the OL has a good chance.

Yeah, he'd actually have an o-line that could block.

Been catching some of the CFL action the past few weeks. Still trying to get used to watching 3-4 guys moving on offense and only having 3 downs.

How do you get CFL games? You have CBC or TSN?

This message was brought to by the Dennis Kucinich presidential campaign, visit http://www.dennis4president.com to find out how you can help reclaim America and prevent the seeds of world war 3 from ripening.

Raiders fans used to love to stick their heads in our forums and give us **** about our first rounders signing a day or two late.

I'll bet the Raiders forums are already melting down ...... Another beat down season for the Alibi Al goon squad.

We haven't gotten many Raider fans, if any, on any of the Charger forums this year......

I think they are still trying to climb out of that deep well of misery.

    getting back on topic

the Raiders had to pick a QB, they could NOT go another year without a 'franchise QB' regardless of all of their other problems. This 'screw up' is what happens in this area of top 5 draft picks getting a bleep load of money. Heck the Lions and Browns are having the same problems.

I love bashing the Raiders as much as the next guy, I can't really blame them here

I had them picking Leinart last year and couldnt believe they passed on him. The Raiders are the circus of the NFL now and i love it.

    Yeah.

MTL, you should at least put Kucinich's cutie-pie wife on as your avatar instead of Dennis.

Oh, and to stay on topic... I agree with Ant's post that the Turds had to go with a "name" QB this year... even though that had other needs. Face it, they had so many needs, they couldn't address them all.

Trading down and getting 3 OL with a serviceable QB would have done much better for them over the next two seasons than a single QB or WR could do.

Agreed but what is done is done .. do they sign a Culpepper or go into the season with Walter again? I just don't think he can be anything but a backup in this league.
