    1) Verrett
    2) Weddle
    3) Henry
    4) Perryman
    5) Ingram
    6) Bosa
    7) Liuget
    8) Mabene
    9) Flowers
    10) T'eo
    11) Addae
    12) Attaochu
    13) Emmanuel
    14) Philon

First, I must admit that I have a very, very, very slow dial up connection,
so my list may not be quite as up-to-date as some other posters.

And yes, I realize that Hunter Henry is technically offense,
but CC has convinced me that Henry is such a dominating athlete
that he could easily beat out any of our current inside linebackers.

In our base defense, one of Flowers/Hayward is not a starter and one of Emanuel/Attaochu is not a starter.

However, using the same 13 players used by Jesse Kemp, my list is:

    1) Verrett
    2) Ingram
    3) Perryman
    4) Mebane
    5) Attaochu
    6) Liuget

    drop off

    7) Addae
    8) Philon
    9) Hayward
    10) Te'o
    11) Emanuel
    12) Flowers
    13) Lowery

If I added Bosa to my list above, he would be #14 at this point (though potentially upwardly mobile). There is zero chance that he could crack my top 6.

Ok, so to be clear you're DOWN on Bosa? Just want to make sure I've got that.

Nope, I like the player a ton. I think he has some growing up to do, and hope he figures it out before his gallery costs him a bunch of money, but he will be a solid player.

You are entitled to your view and it looks like all of us generally have mostly the same groups of players at the top and at the bottom of our lists.

But one thing I don't fully understand is how you and MasterOfPuppets have Te'o ranked higher than Attaochu. I think Attaochu has shown plus ability in one area, pass rushing, but that Te'o has not demonstrated plus ability at anything.

So just out of curiosity and without intending to ignite any sort of heated debate, what is it that you guys see in Te'o that causes you to rank him higher than Attaochu?

I like Attauochu but he's more of a spot player at this point. Teo was probably #2 on defense for much of last year. He's taken a leadership role and once Perryman came in and he didn't have to cover for Butler his game picked up considerably. I think he takes another step forward this year.

This is where the players would rank right now, including Bosa.

If Bosa were signed today, I think it is unrealistic to expect him to be better than Philon 5 seconds after he first sets foot on the field. Bosa would be a rookie with zero training camp experience a couple of weeks before the team's first game. Of course he would not start right away or be as good as Philon right away.

I did state that Bosa would be upwardly mobile on that list, so I am clearly acknowledging that he could move up over time.

But my take on Bosa is that he is a physically limited player, so, no, I do not believe that he will ever have plus ability as a pass rusher, which makes him less than Ingram and Attaochu. And, as a naturally smaller man, I do not think he will ever be as stout as Mebane and Liuget, which makes Bosa less than them. Because I think Verrett and Perryman are very good already, I do not think Bosa will ever be as good as them.

So, no, I do not think Bosa has the ability to be better than the players I ranked in the top 6.

    Feel free to disagree.

Te'o's step forward will unfortunately happen after Perryman has ran past him to make the tackle.....

Typical Te'o....looking good after the play is over.

Mainly because T'eo is a starter (and leader) and Attaochu is playing in the fourth quarter of the first preseason game, I like Attaochu, tha's why I added him to the list even though he's not a starter

    Sure did.

I thought he caused Teddy to step up into Philon on his sack.
