Thought this would be another fun thread to start up

    Here's my list

    5. 1963 AFL Championship with over the Boston Patriots
Only time the Chargers ever won a championship
    4. 2007 Chargers beat the Colts in the Divisional Playoff round
One of the best Charger victories I've ever seen
    3. 2006 Regular Season victory Chargers over Bengals 49-41
The biggest come from behind victory in Chargers history and the game that truly announced the Chargers as an elite team
    2. Chargers beat the Steelers in 1994 AFC Championship
Dennis Gibson becomes the first folkhero of Charger football
    1. Chargers beat the Dolphins in the 1982 playoffs
The guts of Kellen Winslow, the see-saw battle and the team just fights on, an amazing game.

    WHAT SAY YOU CHARGER FANS?

I know it wasn't that important, but I enjoyed the hell out of shutting out the raiders on MNF in their house doing the Foley bull dance.

I was lucky enough to be at that game. Funny how at the end of the first quarter, down 21-0, I turned to my friend and said "I flew out for this? We didn't even show up today." Little did I know!

I don't rank it as a top 5 victory, but I have never felt the electricity in the stadium that I did when LT scored the record breaking TD against the Donkeys.

These are great choices.....I liked the 1994 playoff game againsts Miami.....I still remember my uncle turning the TV off cause he could'nt watch the field goal. We all got pissed at him but then we saw that they missed.

I would replace that with the bengals game....

    Good list.
I'd add the 2005 game against the Colts when they were undefeated, until we came to town. Also, add the 2006 Denver game where we came from behind and beat them at Mile High. That game started our ownership of the Donkeys.

That's the game where Shula sealed his own team's fate.

It rained the Thursday before the game. The grounds crew covered the field and informed both teams that they needed to practice at the practice field 500 yards S.W. of the stadium.

Saturday the grounds crew uncovered the game field to allow it to dry but it was still soggy.

On Saturday morning The Chargers complyed and held thier 11am scheduled practice at the practice field where they were instructed to. On Saturday afternoon (Dolphins practice scheduled for 2pm) Shula bullied his way past security and held the Dolphins practice on the game field, driving his motorized cart all over the field leaving big ruts.

After the Dolphins practice the tarps were placed back on the field for another storm coming in Saturday night. The grounds crew was of course furious.

The next morning after the rain stopped the game field was uncovered for the game. During the pregame warm ups Shula was at it again driving his motorized cart all over the field leaving big tracks.

With 35 seconds left in the game, Miami went for a 48 yard field goal, the holder had no choice but to place the ball in one of the muddy trenches left by Shula.

    Karma's a biitch.

I'd put 'em in THIS order:

    (1) 1963 AFC Championship Game win over the Pats, 51-10 (January 5, 1964)
It was a TITLE game, after all, and a butt-whipping at that.

    (2) 1994 AFC Championship game win over Pittsburgh, 17-13 (30 years, 10 days later!), which delivered the Bolts to their first (and thus far ONLY) Super Bowl. (January 15, 1995)

    (3) 1981 Divisional Playoff win at Miami, 41-38, in OT. (January 2, 1982)
Biggest see-saw nail-biter EVER. in my humble opinion.

    (4) 2007 Divisional Playoff win at Indy, 28-24. (January 13, 2008)

    (5) 2006 Regular season comeback win in Cincinnati, 49-41, overcoming 28-7 halftime deficit. (November 12, 2006)

    (6) 2006 Regular season comeback win THE NEXT WEEK in Denver, 35-27, after trailing 24-7 in the 3rd Quarter. The Chargers became the first team in NFL history to win consecutive games in which they had trailed by 17 points.

Ones that stick out in my memory that have not been mentioned as one who missed the Air Coryell era:

The 37-34 win over Denver in the 94 opener, Elway's butter fingers turn in to game sealing Seau INT

The 14-13 Comeback in KC that same year

34-31 victory at KC in 2004 (Brees)

Rivers last second come back against Tennessee last year

Tough call for number one. I don't remember the AFL championship in '63, and I'm sure most every one else on this board doesn't either - so therefore it doesn't mean as much as some of these other great games that we all remember. On the other hand, how do we not rank a championship first?

    'zactly!

    And not just a win in a title game, but a 51-10 arse-whoopin. :abq2:

I was 10 years old, and only remember hearing about the game at the time, but with no other championships on the ledger, that game has to rank #1.
