The Ravens have started 3-0 for the first time since moving from Cleveland in 1996, but like the Chargers, they haven't proven much except they know how to beat bad teams. Baltimore did not allow a touchdown while pounding Tampa Bay (27-0) and Oakland (28-6), and then rallied from a 14-3 deficit to edge Cleveland 15-14 last week. The Bucs, Raiders and Browns are all winless, as are the Chargers' two victims, Oakland and Tennessee.

Baltimore's strength, as it has been for years, is its defense. Seven of the Ravens' 11 starters have been to at least one Pro Bowl – safety Ed Reed, cornerbacks Chris McAlister and Samari Rolle, defensive ends Trevor Pryce and Terrell Suggs, and linebackers Ray Lewis and Adalius Thomas.
