Please... PLEASE! Let this happen. The only thing that would make it more perfect would be if he took Ron Milus with him, but that won't likely happen as if he gets the DC gig, it will be because he agreed to keep Raheem Morris as DB's coach in Washington.

If this happens, just please go out and hire someone that is competent in teaching LB's to actually TACKLE with proper fundamentals and cracks the whip for missed opportunities, Mikey.

Would assume if Barry does go that Richard Smith (if Denver truly is letting their position coaches look for other opportunities) would be at the upper part of McCoy's list given that they worked together in both Carolina and Denver. Suppose they could just promote Bobby King, but he's only been in the position for a year, hasn't he? Severely doubt Mike Nolan is an option to drop down to a positional coaching gig if he isn't retained by whoever Atlanta hires, but a guy can dream, can't he?

Hell, give Freeney a polo shirt, make him assistant to whoever the new LB coach would be and ease his transition into retirement all that much more.

Would be shocked if Richard Smith is not his replacement.

Even though he's been interviewed for DC, how about Pepper Johnson?

    He's a DL coach....

But I don't have a great idea of what we're gonna do, or really of any candidates. Richard Smith seems like a good candidate, and seems like he did a good job developing Miller (though, i mean, he didn't need a ton of it) and Marshall.

Again, almost guaranteed it won't happen, but Mike Singletary would be very interesting. Love the intensity he brings.

Pags has had a liking for other Wade-guys (Bobby King actually is one), so it's possible that whenever Chicago hires their new HC, if Reggie Herring (King's former superior and Wade's LB coach in Dallas and Houston) comes available, he could be a candidate.

I think it's safe to say will promote in-house. You don't see lateral movies in the league unless that person was just recently fired.

I feel that the word "awesome" has become quite weakened and diluted throughout generations. I personally think that The Grand Canyon or The Pacific Ocean is awesome, as in stirs AWE, but thats just me perhaps! an xXx'er ;)

Fair amount of those though. Broncos staff looks like at least better-than-average to be let to find work elsewhere. Frisco just announced that the only assistant that is being kept under Tomsula is Rathman, their RB Coach. Same may well be able to say for Chicago's staff.

I wonder if Don Johnson our DL coach contract is up. He was a Rivera tag along. I haven't been thrilled about the Dline or the LB's progress for a while so I would welcome new coaches at both of those spots. You have to believe that McCoy is chomping at the bit to add some more of "his" guys to the staff. He really didn't have too many options of coaches he'd worked with when he assembled the 2013 staff. Now some of those guys are going to be available. I think Milus is the only guy he's worked with before.

The U-T seems to suggest that the hiring talk is a bit premature. Barry interviewed for the job, but that's as far as it's gone.

Apparently, San Francisco has thrown a wet blanket on things by dismissing all of their 2014 coaches aside from newly-promoted HC Jim Tomsula and RB Coach Rathman. So now the Skins are going to be interviewing former Niners DC Vic Fangio on Saturday and former DB coach Ed Donatell at some point this weekend as well.

I hate NorCal even more now.

What this should all have taught us is to not trust anything Peaches La Canfora says... unless some other reporter with credibility has already broken the story.

Fangio is off to Chicago with Fox. Per Ian Rappaport, Barry is finally going to be the Skins' DC hire.

Go get us a real LB coach, Tom and Mike.

Basically from what I heard is that it was a done deal until Fangio became available, and then they reopened it to interview him.
