Quarterback Carson Palmer has said he no longer wants to play for the Cincinnati Bengals, according to a WCPO-TV report Tuesday.

The two-time Pro Bowler and former Heisman Trophy winner reportedly told a confidant: "I will never set foot in Paul Brown Stadium again."

Palmer is also quoted as saying: "I have $80 million in the bank. I don't have to play football for money. I'll play it for the love of the game but that would have to be elsewhere. I'm prepared to live my life."

Palmer has requested a trade, but Bengals owner Mike Brown said in January he had denied it because the 31-year-old was too important to the team.

It was reported that Palmer would retire if he was not traded.

However, according to Sports Illustrated's Peter King, the Bengals had softened their stance on Palmer and would consider trading him after the NFL labor situation is sorted out.

"Talking to one Bengals official over the weekend, I was surprised to hear that whenever trades are allowed after the signing of a new CBA [Collective Bargaining Agreement], the team will listen to offers for Palmer," King said.

Ohhh why don't we just go trade for Adrian Peterson?
Ohhh why don't we just go sign Nnamdi Asomugha?
Ohhh why don't we just go get a 1st round pick for Vincent Jackson?

Its like a bunch of kids playing Madden.

I think people are smart enough to know Palmer wants to start wherever he goes, and that he'd come with a massive price tag just to hold the clipboard.

Palmer is still good. He's only 31, had a few Pro Bowls. It's not his fault the Bengals suck. The teams had a winning record TWICE in the Marvin Lewis era. Palmer could go to another decent team, and play another 6 years as a starter who could win.

Damn, I keep forgetting this isn't the real NFL, defensive players aren't allowed to hit the quarterback. My mistake.

Where is Palmer going to go? Carolina?? San Fransisco??? Maybe Oakland????

I say lets turn our attention to AJ Hawk who the Packers let go! He would be a beast in our 3-4 and a much better athlete than Cooper or Burnett.

The panthers need palmer bad. That might be a good fit. It seems the 9ers have qb's. Just not the coaches to make it work. Now they do.

There is no way any team should give up a 1st rounder for him thought.

    Seahawks?
    Cardinals?
    Vikings?
    Bills?
    Dolphins?
    Redskins?

There are a lot of teams with QB issues, I wouldn't be shocked if they did get a 1st for him, or at least a pair of 2nd rounders.

yep, palmer is really good. So some team might give up a first for him. I would if I was a team that needed a very good qb. Which palmer is.
