Report: Tim Tebow Offered Teammates Bounties to Help Opponents Up

A shocking report out of Denver today claims Broncos quarterback and NFL golden boy Tim Tebow ran a high stakes and highly orchestrated bounty program last season.

The report backs up those who have said that the bounty program run by the New Orleans Saints is far from unique, although no one would have believed that the supposedly moral, charitable Tebow would be at the center of such a heinous enterprise.

Yet according to sources, Tebow paid Broncos defensive players Von Miller, Brian Dawkins and Elvis Dumervil more than $50,000 each over the course of the season for helping opposing players back to their feet after tackling them. Many other Denver defensive players were also paid by Tebow. The quarterback reportedly would throw in an extra $200 for each time a teammate told an opponent: “Great effort on that play, friend. God bless you,” while helping them up.

Tebow’s bounty system also reportedly extended to the offense. Broncos left tackle Ryan Clady said Tebow paid him to help opposing linemen up if and when they were blocked to the ground.

“The reason our offense looked so haphazard out there was that most of the time in the huddle, Tim wasn’t talking about the next play but instead offering bounties,” said Clady. “Or encouraging us to do good deeds. Whatever you want to call it.”

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has summoned Tebow to the NFL offices in New York to discuss the allegations, and also rumors that Tebow has been spending time around beggars, thieves and prostitutes.

“He says ‘ministering,’ I say being seen in public with a bad sort that tarnishes the shield,” said the commissioner. “It’s time this kid is put in line.”

Early reports that Tim Tebow had walked on water in Denver appear to have been unsubstantiated, as it was actually only snow he was walking on.

Oh my, at least he is encouraging people to do good things, not endanger the safety of the opposition.
