Deal only pending a physical exam...

Revis has agreed to terms with the Buccaneers on a six-year, $96 million contract, a source informed of the negotiations tells NFL.com's Ian Rapoport. The deal averages $16 million annually, making Revis the highest-paid defensive back in NFL history, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter. However, the deal includes no guaranteed money.

In return for the three-time All-Pro, the New York Jets will receive the No. 13 overall pick in the 2013 draft in addition to a conditional 2014 fourth-rounder that bumps to a third-rounder if Revis is on the Bucs' roster on the third day of the 2014 league year. The Jets are now the first team since the 2000 Jets with two draft picks in the first 13 selections.

Revis will still count $12 million in dead money against the Jets' 2013 salary cap while the Bucs assume his $1 million bonus.

As Gregg Rosenthal noted earlier, the blockbuster trade is setting head coach Rex Ryan up for failure with two years left on his contract.

Bucs general manager Mark Dominik comes out smelling like a rose, on the other hand. He surrendered just two draft picks instead of the expected three. With no guarantees included in the contract, it's essentially a year-to-year situation. The Bucs are off the hook if Revis' knee prevents him from returning to shutdown-corner status.

Sounds like a steal for the Bucs.

It's a series of one year deals to the tune of $16 million per season. Bucs can pull the plug at any time, and they traded this year's 1st round and a 4th in 2014. Since they were going to need to draft a CB anyway, that's not too much to give up.

The Bucs got the best player in the draft, pricey but still the best player.
