Philip Rivers moved back into the NFL lead in passer rating with his three-touchdown performance Sunday night. At 109.4, he's 4.4 points better than his old buddy Drew Brees. Rivers and Tony Romo, who will miss the next month with a broken finger, are tied for the league lead with 14 TD passes.

Mike Scifres still leads the NFL in net punting average (43.3 yards per punt). Prior to Sunday, Sproles didn't have enough punt returns to qualify for the league lead. With two long ones against the Patriots, he's now tied with Eddie Royal for 4th in the league (14.3 yards per). Reggie Bush leads the NFL at 26.9.

I think I dislike Rivers more than what he deserves but sometimes he just makes me angry.

Why do you say that? The guy is the best franchise QB we've had since Humphires.

I'd go as far as Dan Fouts, give him another season or two and I might even say ever. I know Humphires got us to the bowl, but I think he was one of the most over-rates QBs... I rank Floutie and Brees above Humphires any day of the week.

Scifres had prolly his poorest punting game vs the Pats.

Watching him play football makes me swoon

Brees, Flutie and Stan will always have a special place in my heart but Rivers is #1 in my book. I'm too young to have seen Fouts play live, well at least too young to remember anyway, but from what I hear Philip will give him a run for his money as the best QB in Chargers history before his career is done.

As good as a year as Philip is having I have beeen a little frustrated with some of his throws.

Watching Fouts throw the skinny post was an awe inspiring thing. His accuracy was higher than Rivers' but Rivers does have a won/loss record that makes other QBs jealous...

rivers is a stud. im too young to remember stan or flutie, but ive seen them (in replays and crap,) ill give credit to them, their still the best until someone dethrones them, i just think rivers is off to a damn good start and doing it.

Flutie was awesome to watch b/c he was such a motivator. His energy was palpable the moment he stepped on the field and he was a pure leader. He was smart and tough and could call a game better than our coaches most of the time too [Minnesota anyone?] He's short for a QB, but he was still a total stud - making him an excellent mentor for Brees.

And to top it off, Flutie Flakes!

Stan was a guy with huge grit, an adequate passer that got the best out of the team around him. Rivers will have to do what he does for a while to convince me he is greater than Fouts, but he is definitely the best since Fouts. The only other guy I saw that played as well as Rivers was Hadl, but that was a whole different era and he had Alworth, Garrison and McKinnon to throw to. That puts him at #2 for the moment, with a bullet.

The only thing that makes me "angry" is that Rivers hasn't won the Super Bowl yet! Other than that all I got to say is I told you all Rivers was going be great.....

PR is a gritty competitor like Stan was. Not as mechanically gifted as Fouts, but a tough guy & a WINNER.

Cutler wishes that he could wash PR's jock.
