    <font class="newstext"> KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For a few moments yesterday, Philip Rivers looked as if he might suffer the same fate as two inexperienced Chargers quarterbacks of the past. </font>

    <font class="newstext">Remember Moses Moreno? He made his second career start in 2000 at Arrowhead Stadium and passed for just 107 yards before leaving in the third quarter with a substantial shoulder injury. His career lasted all of two more games.</font>

    <font class="newstext">Surely no one has forgotten Ryan Leaf, who made his third career start here in 1998 and had more turnovers (five) than passing yards (four) in a rainy-day performance for the ages. His career went downhill from there.</font></blockquote>
