Someone told him the Chargers were more than a one-touchdown favorite in their road game against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.

"I couldn't even tell you what people are saying we are supposed to win by, I really couldn't," said Rivers, who will be making his fifth NFL start and his third on the road. "We just want to win by one point. That is the objective: to win the game, whatever the score may be."

But the numbers don't lie. The Chargers (3-1) are coming off a victory over the defending Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers. That's good enough for a share of first place in the AFC West with the Denver Broncos.</blockquote>
