We know what he is. We know what he does. And we have already begun to take him for granted. </font>

    <font class="newstext">Two months ago, the Chargers' new quarterback was a mystery: a big package of unwrapped possibilities. Today, he is as methodical as a metronome. If you didn't know better, you'd swear the aw-shucks arm from Athens, Ala., had been playing pro football for eight years instead of eight weeks.</font>

    <font class="newstext"> "I thought there would be a lot of things happen early in the season that would have my head turned," Rivers said yesterday after the Chargers' 32-25 victory over the Cleveland Browns. "Obviously, there have been a ton of mistakes. I'm learning every week. But for the most part, I haven't been surprised. I haven't been shocked."</font>
